Doesn't it depend where you are?

In UK there is now only one Cable Company, and I have Internet, TV (basic package) and phone with them. It was the only sensible option because the house had no British Telecom land line.

The internet service is only just acceptable for its declared speed. The phone pricing is not bad.

The alternative would have been via a British Telecom line using BT or other suppliers for phone and internet I would have needed Sat TV becuase I live in an impossible reception area for terrestrial TV, whether digital or analogue.

What could other be?

Satellite broadband internet. Uses Sat for downlink and landline for uplink. Expensive but only option is some remote places.

Internet via mobile phone is also possible but even more expensive and even with G3 still relatively slow.

I have not voted.

Where we live, it's definitely the cable company. We have cable TV, phone, and internet for less than what our regular phone bill was with the phone company. And cable internet is much faster than dial-up!

I've been taking a look at some conversations through twitter about the monthly cap of 250 Gb a month. What a lot of people don't understand is that normal usage is roughly 2-3 Gb a month.
