Guess I'd better cut out the Mayo/dressings! Again thanks for your help!
Suzanne
Hi Suzanne/Fancy,

The 12g carbs is your veggie carbs, you can go up to 20g total in induction, with the majority of your carbs (hence the 12g) coming from the induction veggies, (in the proportions as per the book/stickies). So keep eating and enjoying the mayo/dressings to get your fat in!

(with apologies to Mitzi for butting in on her thread - but as I love to eat, I do hate to see someone maybe not eating enough! )

This is a great question, jimmie! And yes, indeed, I have no problem at all with rounding up on your net veggie carbs.

I look at it this way... using decimals is just too exact a measurement to worry about.

CP, thank you so much for clarifying the issue for Suzanne/fancy! No apologies needed at all for "butting in"... I don't have computer access at work, so I surely do appreciate your help.

That's one of the great things about having a mixed group - we can help each other. I really enjoy seeing the veterans taking the newbies under their wings. Well done!

I'd be pleased to join this challenge as veggies are something I struggle with. Thanks for the opportunity!

Jeannette, I am very happy to have you join us. I just need to verify - are you in OWL?

Me me me me.... ((koff koff)) Even tho veggies are a big part of my menu (Modified OWL not quite Maintenance), slippage into eating extra meat and cheese probably is not helping whereas extra veggies just might. Now that the local spring garden produce is here, there should be no excuse such as winter prices/scarcity to prevent eating more green stuff. Although, it may take some research to discover a veggie not yet tried! LOL

COUNT ME IN!

Here are some recipes I'd like to try.

Artichoke hearts fried in olive oil. I saw how they are prepared in this video: Gourmet's Diary of a Foodie: Italy: Diary of a Foodie Video : gourmet.com
If you don't want to watch the whole thing, the recipe is at 7:00. This is how it should look like in the end. The pictures are taken from the video.

Artichokes are not allowed in Induction, but you can have them in OWL.

If I can find some SF bacon, I want to make asparagus wrapped in bacon. I think they'll make great appetizers. The recipe is here: http://www.myfigsandcheese.com/2009/...by-jaimie.html

And the other thing I want to try is fried parley and have it as a side dish, not use it only to garnish food. I still don't know how I will prepare it... I was thinking about adding some pine nuts or roasted sesame seeds to it... maybe some lemon juice... I might do more batches, just to try different recipes.
