| That's a really good question! If you are being monitored by your doctor, and he/she knows you are on Atkins and taking Metamucil (and the Metamucil is sugar and aspartame-free), then I would think it would be ok....but I'm not a doctor. Perhaps someone else has an opinion about this? |

| like Moochie said, there is a sugar-free metamucil that's sweetened with aspartame. There are also preparations of 100% psyllium husk that have no sweeteners added to them at all---these are an option for you too. Otherwise, fiber supplements are part of the Induction phase. So you'll be okay taking a non-sugar sweetened fiber supplement. By the way, my local public library has copies of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 ed. You might want to check your local public library for copies---that way you don't have to purchase the book.

| And if your library hasnt got the book on the shelves then have a look round your local charity shops (thrift shops?) Even here in UK most have at least one copy for sale at low prices. If you decide not to do Atkins you can always donate it back for someone else to buy!
