| Wow! I cant believe its been a month almost! Im still on induction with the exception of alowing a few more veggies like carrots once in a while. My body is adjusting well and I know it has made its change in burning fat and not carbs because I was soooo constipated for the first few weeks and NO MORE! Just normal and feeling sooooo good. I have more energy and also my appitite has lessed my more than half. I still have the occasional craving and a few times gave in. Once last week for a pice of pizza, and once the week before for a stupid poptart! (i dont even like them and only keep them in the cubbord for a treat for my daughter cause I figured it was safe. Nothing is safe when u have a real sugar craving) But anyways I just dusted off and started the next day without beating myself up and take it one day at a time! I really should check in here more and use this place as a support system. ohhh yah I added some nuts too. And check this out! I dont even own a scale so I have no idea how much I have lost |

| hi :wave Glad you are enjoying your Atkins WOE I see you are now on 'Extended induction' but are adding some of the OWL rung #8 veggies as well as rung #3 nuts to your menus. To me this plus the odd pizza and poptart 'cheat' signifies that you need more variety of foods than allowed in Induction! Why not move on to OWL now instead as described in DANDR and start to build on the foundation you have laid down in Induction and follow the later stages of Atkins to ensure you are able to maintain your goal weight when you reach it? OWL is in reality the main weightloss phase of Atkins - Induction is just a kickstart to your weightloss unless you have 50 pounds or more to lose. 2big has described the progress of Atkins as similar to building a house - ie induction=foundation; OWL=walls; pre-maintenance=roof - so you need your walls to be strong enough to support the roof. I have put it very badly but cannot find the post where she laid it so logically :sadblinky Introducing the various food groups as Dr Atkins suggested will help your body get used to more carbs and help you find your Critical Carb Level for Losing (CCLL) as well as finding out if some foods affect you adversley (sp?). Why not visit the OWL forum and read some of the stickies to discover how to do it in the most beneficial way?
