    Default Issue with weight loss!!

Hello my fellow Akins followers! I started Atkins 5 years ago and lost 35lbs and kept it off for over 5 years. However; I gain the weight back a couple years ago. I started Induction 12 days ago and lost 10lbs the first 8 days. Since those 8 days, I haven't lost anymore weight. As a matter of fact, I've gained a couple pounds. I work out 4 days a week, which is very hard because I RUN for 45 minutes (no weight training at this time). This is what my daily plan is:

Morning: Turkey bacon & 2 scrambled eggs
    Morning Snack: 1 tomato
Lunch: 1 turkey burger, 1 slice of cheese, broccoli
    Afternoon Snack: sliced cucumbers
Dinner: Baked chicken wings with broccoli
I drink water ALL DAY EVERY DAY - Nothing else!!

I am eating 5 small meals a day and working out consistently. Not to mention...I HAVE NOT CHEATED ONCE!!! What am I doing wrong? Why have I stopped losing weight??? Can someone please help with any advice you can share? I need to lose a total of 52lbs!!

    Thanks so much!!!

Welcome to our ADBB family, DG!

It is absolutely normal for our weight to fluctuate up and down over the weeks, so an "up" after a good run of "down" is not unusual!!

Are you male or female? We (lucky ) women get the extra bonus of seeing weight gains regularly according to our monthly cycle, so this could be an added factor and usually goes away after the event.
Are you having problems getting most of your net carbs from vegetables on induction?

Hello and welcome, dgsuccess! Just a guess, but if this is a true example of your daily menu, you're likely not eating enough vegetables. You might want to try one of the online food logs like fitday.com and record your daily meals. You might be surprised how few carbs you're actually eating. On Fitday, you'll have to remember to subtract out the fiber grams to get net carbs.

Excellent work losing 10 pounds! Woot!

I'm sure that you remember that the weight loss slows after the initial "whoosh". Just keep going - your body is adjusting and will get back in the losing groove soon.

But just one thing I noticed... I'm not seeing very much FAT in your menu... Atkins is not a low calorie diet... it doesn't work if you starve your body.

Exercise is excellent - but you must FUEL your body. Also - if you have increased your exercise recently, muscles start building by retaining water - which weighs more.

    Good luck!

You have already gotten some good advice. Just know every time you do this plan it will be different for a variety of reasons. If you have not yet re-read the book I suggest that as a place to start. It is easy to forget a lot after 5 years. Stick to plan and I am sure your losses will start up again as soon as your body adjusts. Eat your veg, drink your water, and shoot for 65% cals from fat.

I have never left the gym and said I am sorry I worked out today.

Thank you Elizellen! I am actually a female. Not that time right now however; I do have an ovarian cyst which I've heard causes weight gain & water retention. I am doing everything I can to lose this weight!! I will keep pressing on! Thanks so much for the advice. Happy to be here!

Hello JoQuinn, thank you for your reply!! Great advice as well. I actually JUST started incorporating more fats. I've been eating garden salads with cesar dressing and cooking everything with olive oil. I hope that helps!!
