| Looks good. You can add another cup of veggies, either 1 more cup from the "salad" list or 1 cup from the "other vegetable list". The fiber from the 3 cups of veg wil help to keep you regular. Watch the sausages, many are made with added sugar ("dextrose", "corn syrup solids", etc.) and will add carbs to your meals. Also make sure you are eating enough and eating enough fat. You shouldn't be hungry on Atkins...

| AND I'll just add.............. go to www.fitday.com and set up an account. It's free and it helps keep track of your carbs, fats, proteins and calories. It's a live saver to me. Also on the sausages... they are very high in sodium and can cause water retention. :yikes

| You're off to a good start, remember Dr. Atkins rule of thumb which he emphasizes throughout the book - if it ends in an "ose" Dextrose, Frustose etc etc..it's sugar and sugar is the dagger in the heart as far as Atkins. Read your labels really carefully not just the nutritional ones but the ingredients too and pass on anything that contains sugar, fillers, starches or anything else that makes you question - hold off until you get a clear answer. Keep doing the wonderful job with your water intake - and if you're not already use plenty of Olive oil and sweet cream butter in your cooking. Peter |

| Sausages are processed foods, so be wary of them. Better to stick with unprocessed meats that aren't cured with sugars or fillers or sodium. Lots of veggies too! So far, I'd say you're doing great! Betty

| I like that you had a good sized breakfast. Keep that up. Never skip a meal, never go hungry. I personally, wouldn't have the same meat for breakfast and lunch unless you really want to. Use the widest variety possible from the approved foods list. If you are feeling hungry mid-afternoon I would add an appropriate snack from the approved foods lists. Or make a mock danish. If you were still hungry during diinner I would eat 2 pieces of chicken instead of just one. Don't forget that you can have 4 ounces of cheese everyday. I think it is important to include all the foods that will satisfy your mind as well as your body. And personally, this is just my thing, but I like making sure I have some fish everyday. It adds variety and fish is really yummy and so good for you. Great job on your water! You are off to a flying start! :nod |
