| I had that for 2 days, exactly like you're describing. After that it went away and I felt fine. I think a lot of mine had to do with sugar alcohols. Are you eating anything with them in it?

| it could be from anything. does your pain come and go with eating? does eating make it worse? not everything tht happens to us is caused by our Atkins. If you have gallstones in your liver blocking the bile flow there then yes it could be because you had your gallbladder removed. It could just be getting used to the new foods on induction. If it bothers you call your doc and ask them about it.

| I felt the same way yesterday with a horrible headache as well! My stomach hurt terribly. I think I lost 3 lbs. just going to the bathroom all day... "pooing". :sadblinky I feel fine today. My headache is gone, and hardly anymore "pooing". I'm on my 3rd day. |

| Hi Shay........... Glad you are feeling better. Just wanted to ask if you are eating anything with sugar alcohols? Your symptoms sound exactly like the way I feel if I do that. I only have them once every few months, because that is how long it takes me to forget the HORRIBLE pain they cause me! Just a thought....

| Things like low-carb bars, shakes, candies, ice creams....we generally call them 'frankenfoods'...will have sugar alcohols in them(maltitol, mannitol, sorbitol, Xylitol, HSH (commonly labeled as Lycasin™)). At this point in Atkins you should avoid anything processed like that anyway. Here's a link about counting sugar alcohols that has an explanation of them. http://www.countcarbs.com/advice/To_...t_to_Count.htm It's not uncommon to have constipation problems during Atkins...I know my tummy would feel yukky when I needed to go. You can supplement your fiber (page 76 & 77 of DANDR) with a few TBSflax meal or psyllium husks (dissolved in water or in pill form) and you can also take Metamucil(sugar free, of course) or Benefiber. I find that a glycerine suppository works well for me when my body is being reluctant...it works withiin 15 minutes usually, and my whole system feels better. |
