| Hi and welcome back krystle. If you didn't go through all the weight loss phases the last time, you might want to consider going through them this time around, rather than to stay on Induction until you reach goal. Going through the phases increases your chances of keeping that weight off because you learn about your body. Otherwise, re-read your book and the stickie threads at the top of the forum.

| Thank you hun, thats exactly what i need to do, because its EXACTLY WHAT I DIDNT DO LAST TIME! i only did induction until i hit goal. The bad thing about this time around is, instead of having to lose 20 lbs, i gotta lose 30.....ahhhhhhhhhh lol, but i know i can do it, because i HAVE TO DO IT , there is no way i can afford to go buy a whole closet full ofclothes. lol, so right there is my motivation! Thanks meg nice to meetcha! |

| Krystle, I am in a similar position as you. I did Atkins in the fall of 2003. I thought I was doing it right, but in retrospect I saw a lot of things I did wrong. I was eating a lot of the frankenfoods (atkins bars, shakes, etc.) and skipped directly to eating things like commercially packaged low-carb bread. I lost about 10 pounds, then stopped it altogether. I went from 166 lbs to 202 lbs! I re-read the book, and this time I'm determined to do it the right way. I can actually feel a difference this time around though. I know I'm on this forever. Last time I did Atkins, I was thinking of all the foods I could never eat again -- doritos, ice cream, pizza. Now, I don't even want those foods. I know I'm only in my second week, but I'm committed to having this attitude forever. In a way, I'm glad I "failed" at my first attempt on Atkins, because I was able to learn from those mistakes. I know I can't go back to eating carbs because I know what's going to happen. It's not enough to read about it happening to someone else. When you gain 30 pounds (like you did) or 40 pounds (like I did), it's just the slap in the face that you need to keep you on track. I wish you much success this time around. WE CAN DO IT! :joy |

| I lost 43 lbs. on Atkins last year for my wedding. I have since gained 20 lbs. back. I am on my 4th day of Atkins and very committed! I remember what it felt like when I was thin AND IT IS A GREAT FEELING!!!! Well worth it! |

| Thank you Isabeau. Effie, thanks so much for sharing that with me. I was the same way as you, and I went back to eating fast foods ALOT....which killed me, and now myclothes barely fit! My Main motivation is the fact that i cant afford to buy a new closet full. So I definately know this time around I will be successful, and hopefully we can both be successful together |

| Posts like these just reiterate the importance of making this WOL truly your WAY OF LIFE. There is no going off. Ever. Atkins isn't any different from any other weight loss plan; you go off it, your fate is sealed and YOU WILL REGAIN THE WEIGHT. The key is persistence, discipline, determination and dedication. This is for LIFE! And life that is truly worth the effort! Betty
