| Sean, you can't target weight loss. Consider an overall exercise plan that works cardio to suppliment your Atkins. For more information on the plan check out the FAQ section of this board and buy the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution book. It is required reading for discussions on this board. Welcome and check out the Exercise forum for info on work outs! |

| Definitely get yourself a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, version 2002 (DANDR for short) and give it a good thorough read. You'll find almost everything you need to know in there and it's a must-read, as that's what we follow on this board. Please don't do Atkins based on what you've heard or think you know...it's best to go to the source. Taking yourself off of caffiene and especially sugar will be one of the best things you can do for your body. I know it sure was for me! It's not especially easy, the first few weeks, because we all go through a detox period where we feel crappy for a few days, but once that's over, it's like having a monkey off your back. So, get the book, do your reading, (make sure to read the stickys in the forums as well) and by all means ask questions! |

A word of caution: Atkins IS NOT a crash diet, to be used for reduction, then dumped on the side of the road. Atkins is a way of life. You will get to eat lots of healthful carbs after losing the fat, but you can never go back to regular Mountain Dew. If you are still serious about Atkins, then go for it, but be realistic about it, and dedicate yourself. You won't be sorry!! For menu ideas, please go to the recipes tab at the top of the page.
