| Colin, congratulations on putting on your chefs hat. :joy Being open to learning new recipes is a big key to making Atkins a permanent lifestyle. Would you mind sharing where you are getting that recipe? I'm not finding it listed by that name in the Recipe section. Thanks! |

| Just a reminder to not over-do your flax consumption! :yikes Start out with 1 TBS a day and ease into it. Dr. Atkins suggests 1-2 TBS a day for relief of constipation...and make sure you drink lots and lots of water to keep that fiber moving. |

| Dr Atkins also recommends flax as one of the fibers for regularity in his chapter on fiber so if you get constipated you can use it daily to prevent further bouts. just count your carbs. Happy low carbing.

| Glad you like it! I adapted it from a soy recipe I found somewhere! I often add 'italian herbs' to the recipe and cook it in a flan dish or spread out on a plate to make a pizza base which I turn out onto an oven tray add toppings then put under the grill. Last weekend I added a couple of ounces of grated cheese and use a muffin tray to make 6 sort of 'cheese scones' - delicious served warm, split with a knob of butter inside them! Next time I shall reserve a sprinkling of cheese to put on top and finish them off under the grill.

| Hi In the UK it is sold as Golden Linseed. You simply put it in your grinder and wizz away! Health food store should sell it. Failing that have a look online. I found it to be a life saver. Well worth the hunt. Good luck.

| As Colin said - health food shops are the best place to buy linseed. I found my local independant shop was at least half the price than Holland & Barratt or other large chains. You can also buy brown linseeds which some people prefer for cereal. I have only used the golden as I use it in baking only. In UK as far as I know you can only buy it in seed form (in USA you can get it ready ground as flax meal) and so you have to grind your own. I only grind a couple of days' worth at a time - takes about 5 minutes - as the ground seeds will go rancid if not stored in the freezer. I use the grinder attachment of my foodprocessor but you can buy a separate grinder if you want. I gave my sister a Braun coffee grinder and a couple of packs of flax plus some baking powder for her Christmas pressie :yikes I think she was pleased I sometimes use Moochiecat's adaptation of the recipe to make 'buns' for my 'big Mac's'. Just use the same ingredients but put into some round dishes and sprinkle some flax seeds on it to make it look authentic and cook in the microwave as usual. Then split them into half and and put them under the grill for a few minutes to toast them!!!
