    Default Chia Seeds

Good evening all. Wanted to know if Chia Seeds are on the acceptable foods list for Induction. The package we have in our house says 1/4 cup of Chia Seeds is 16 carbs with 14 fiber = Net 2 carbs per 1/4 cup. Interested to know if it is a go on Induction. Thanks in advance for your time.

Seeds of any type would be allowed in Rung Three. Not OK for induction, sorry.

Like Chinadoll wrote, it's not on the List, so it's not an acceptable food no matter what the carb count is.

Always check the list of induction foods, and even as you progress through OWL read the ingredient lists of what you buy carefully. It's about educating yourself about every morsel you put in your mouth to ensure you aren't consuming "hidden" carbs.

I've read a few things now about people eating Chia seeds. If it is something you like, add them back in when you get to OWL Rung 3 (Nuts and Seeds). But even then - observe how your body reacts to them to see if they spur cravings or weight gain. It's not just about finding a low carb item we like to eat. It's about eating it at the right stage and paying attention to what happens to us when we eat it. Subtle difference, but so important!

Best of luck in your journey.

But, you could order the Barak Obama chia head, plant your seeds, and then eat his hair.
