Default Need Input-Edited w/ Menu

Hey everybody. I recently started using fitday and I'm a little concerned. I wanted to know if my diet is okay. Here is what I've had for 2 days.

1st Day Using Fitday:
Calories: 1240
Fat: 82g, 734 calories, 60%
Protein: 103g, 412 calories, 34%
Carbs: 18g, 74 calories, 6%

1st Day Menu:
Breakfast:
3 Pieces of Bacon
2 servings of Scrambled Eggs (2 eggs)

Lunch:
Salad (1 cup, including lettuce, tomatos, cucumbers, mayo, and ground beef)

Dinner:
Salad (2 cups, including same ingredients as above)
3 small chicken legs

Snack:
1 oz. Mozzarella Cheese

2nd Day:
Calories: 1002
Fat: 55g, 497 calories, 61%
Protein: 65g, 260 calories, 31%
Carbs: 18g, 72 calories, 8%

2nd Day Menu:
Breakfast:
1 Omlette (2 eggs, with one slice of American Slice cheese)
2 pieces of bacon

Lunch:
Salad (1 cup, including lettuce, tomatos, cucumbers, and mayo)
2 small chicken legs

Dinner:
Salad (2 cups of ingredients listed above + ground beef)

Snack:
1 oz Mozarella Cheese

Also, everday I'm getting about 80 oz. of water

It's only 2 days, but I'm still a little worried. I know we aren't supposed to be counting calories, but I'm afraid they're a little low. And the thing is I'm not hungry at all, and I feel like I'm overeating. Also, in the first day, I thought I really ate a lot. Is there anything wrong with this? Any input would be appreciated.

As you are still in the 14-day Induction, you don't need to count calories... but having said that, make sure they are not TOO low otherwise your body will go into starvation mode, and looking at your height you are definitely not eating enough

If you aren't hungry at all and not eating enough calories, may I suggest you try and add these "hidden" calories? Like using more butter/oil when cooking your food. I can see that your fat/protein/carb % aren't quite right - you need more fats, should be something like 65%/30%/5%

How about posting your menu from Fitday and letting us or mods see if we can give you a few pointers?

Cheers.

PS - your logon name - does that mean you're Egyptian?

Default don't worry, eat hearty

Hi Matt - you aren't overeating if you are sticking to the foods and the appropriate portions on the induction approved food lists.

Edit your post and add what you actually ate, including your portions, and it will be easier for the moderators to see if there is a problem.

One thing about Fitday - it is a helpful tool, but there are a few tricks to it. With practice, you will learn what you need to do to tweak your menus to get the right percentages.

As for me, I never counted calories when I was on induction. I only counted carbs and I made sure to have 3 meals a day plus a snack if I wanted one.

It sounds like you are really focused on doing Atkins right. That does you credit. Good luck to you on your Atkins journey.

Hi Matt.

I noticed in your siggy that you are 13 years old.

While it's great that you want to lose weight, it's important for you to get your doctor on board supervising you. At 13, you are either in the middle of your growth spurt or are heading into it. So you need more nutrients, vitamins and minerals than us older folks (who aren't growing or developing anymore). So it's really important for you to have a doctor weighing and measuring you, reviewing your diet and your loss progress monthly.

Also, eventhough Dr. Atkins said the Diet could be done by teenagers, the diet the Atkins Center used for their child and teen patients is outlined in a book called Feed Your Kids Well by Fred Pescatore, MD ----at least that's what Dr. Atkins wrote in the Introduction of Feed Your Kids Well. Dr. Pescatore was the Associate of Medical Director of the Atkins Center for Complementary Medicine during the 1990s. The diet in that book is more nutritiously balanced and is designed more for person who is still growing and developing.

Yup, I'm 100% Egyptian. :joy And as Egyptians, we tend to go a little overboard with the rice and bread. :nono

By the way, I just want to thank everyone for the support. I know I've only been here for a little, but I feel really welcome here. :hug

Matt, I just wanted to repeat what not2late said....I strongly urge you to talk to your family doctor and your parents about this.

You have a really good grasp of Atkins so it shouldn't be that hard for you to grab one more book, read, and follow it. :yes

Ya, my parents know I'm doing it. My mom's actually doing it with me. And about the doctor, I'm going for a checkup to see if everything's alright soon.

Thanks for all your concern. :wave

I was just wondering, how many calories do you eat before your body goes into starvation mode?
