| It is more likely that the sugars are natural sugar like in tomatoes etc. Look at the list of ingredients. If it has SAs they will be listed there - here is a link to a post about them which lists some. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ic.php?t=68131

oh thanks for the link! the item in question was some spaghetti sauce...i put it over some chicken with some cheese on top for lunch...it had like 20g of carbs, but like 2 of them were fibers and 14 were "sugers" under the carbs...so I might have screwed up, I may have to eat spinach and fish the rest of the day lol.

I read that post...but it never really answered my question...am still very unclear if sugars under the carbs count as sugar alcohols or not. Here is an example: ![]() would you subtract those sugars or not? **notice how they are BOTH indented under carbohydrates

I would not subtract the sugars from the carb counts..only the fiber.

Look at the actual ingredients. It's spaghetti sauce, so I'm sure it's just regular sugar. I'm not certain, but I think you'll ~generally~ only find sugar alcohols in items that are low carb diet related.
