It was on our local news a year ago and it freaked me out when I heard that because I was taking them too! I stopped taking vitamins altogether for fear they were all like that (can you say paranoid?)

A girl I work with got pregnant a month after this annoucement! She couldn't figure out why since she takes her bcp regularily and I noticed she had one a days in her top drawer at work...and was like, 'bingo'. Okay, no one knows for sure if that's why she got pregnant....BUT i saw it on the news with my own eyes that there is an ingredient in there that kills bcp.

I think you should discuss this with your physician. Many things can decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. For example, antibiotics can decrease it. So check with your physicians----there are plenty of health urban legends out there.

Also, don't get sucked into the "low carb" marketing scams. The vitamin that is the closest to Atkins Basic 3 is Centrum Silver. If you compare the One-A-Day' vitamins to Centrum Silver or Basic 3, you'll find them lacking.

haha I was just about to make a post about vitamins...I bought Centrum Silver also because it was the closest thing I could find to what Dr. A reccommended. But my BF laughed at me because its for people over 50. lol

There are many supplements that offset the effects of birthcontrol...I remember I used to take St. John's Wort and had to stop it bc of this...also my vitamin C tablets do this as well. I'd just try to check out a website and see if you can find answers...I'll let you knwo fi I see anything about the 1 a day carb smarts.
