| Hi Missderay :wave Welcome to You will experience cravings for the first few days. That is part of the withdrawal and induction flu. However, I have found that taking 2,000mg of L-Glutamine a day REALLY helps calm the cravings! It's not that expensive and sooooooooo worth it! I found them at WalMart :hug

| Hi Missderay, The first week for me has always been very hard. I have quit many times because of it. But you have to really decide within yourself to stick to it and to not give in to the cravings. I'm on week #2 and so far so good. The first week was hard but it is very possible. Just look at all the success stories on the board. Good luck and stick to it - you can do it. :icondance |

| Hi and welcome aboard! Your body is going to be going through some big changes within the next few days as your blood sugars stabilize and you enter ketosis. Basically you will be going through a detox. thing! You may experience what we call the 'induction flu'. Rest assured it's all normal and you will be feeling better than ever after it passes. In terms of your cravings, be strong and don't give in. Drink lots of water. Grab a high fat snack (cheese for example, careful to not go over the limits). You can do it! |

| One thing that usually works when you get a craving is to immediately eat something high in fat. I keep the following handy for just those circumstances (which I must tell you get fewer and fewer as the days go by!!!!): devilled eggs, olives, avocado, cheese cubes, Good luck! We've all experienced this and made it thru, so you can too!

| I agree....high fat foods and lots of water.... The first few days were hard for me too....and when it got REALLY hard, I grabbed a recipe I found here that satiated my cravings for sugar/chocolate 1oz cream cheese 1 tsp splenda 1 tsp cocoa Mix it all together, form into little flat circles (about the size of a quarter) and freeze in tin foil. When you get a really bad craving...take one out and pop it in your mouth. BUT, remember, technically, you should only use this as a LAST RESORT as it may trigger further sugar cravings being that they are 'sweet' in your mouth. Luckily for me, they worked and I didn't have any further cravings. I did use it for 2 days in my first week....then, that was all I needed....haven't made them since and am doing fine.

| Hmmm, still trying to make sense of this.. ok? If I eat something that has sugar in it, it will make me crave more sugar? Even if the amount of sugar is tiny, like 2 % per 100 grams, 2 grams. Does my body know the difference between things that taste sweet and real sugar? If I eat creamcheese and splenda will I want to eat more creamcheese and splenda? Whats the difference between sugar cravings and wanting something sweet to eat? Or are they the same thing? I really miss chocolate and puddings. Ta.
