Dieter profile:
Shannon
Age: 36
Occupation: Full-time mother
Height: 5'6"
Current weight: 157 pounds
Goal weight: 137 pounds

Ten years ago, Shannon weighed in at 135. But after giving birth to three children in the last six years, she now weighs 157. Though she jogs four days a week, her pace has slowed to the equivalent of a brisk walk. Shannon wants to lose at least 20 pounds and drop her size 10/11 to a size 6. Shannon has attended Weight Watchers' meetings twice, but both times she came away dismayed by the effort of counting points. She has also tried the Atkins Plan, but after a week she realized that her sanity depends on some carbs and snacks!
Wow. Take a look at that link and the sample menu of her WW diet. It blows me away that she gave up on Atkins after a week. She didn't even give it a chance. I wonder if she even read the book?

If you're reading this, at least you've found support, tips, tricks and lots of knowledge to be shared. If you have any problems or questions, post them!

I wish that people just starting out would really understand that "induction flu" is your body getting used to burning fat as it's major food source instead of carbohydrates. If they did, they would stick with it and see it through, it's so much healthier to give up that addiction to sugar and eat more the way your body was intended to eat.

Sample menu:
Breakfast
• 1 cup plain fat-free yogurt
• 1/2 cup berries
• 1/2 cup all-bran cereal

Morning snack
• Fruit

Lunch
• Turkey on half a whole wheat pita
• Carrots with fat-free dip

Dinner
• 4-6 ounces baked, boneless, skinless chicken
• 1-2 cups broccoli with a sprinke of fat-free parmesan

Snack
• Microwave popcorn (94 percent fat-free)

Dessert

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!

I used to eat like that before I went on Atkins. I didn't lose weight and I was hungry all the time!

Anyhow, here's what I've had and have planned for my meals today. Keep in mind I'm on OWL.

Breakfast:
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1 sliced strawberry + 1 tablespoon toasted wheat germ
2 hard boiled eggs

Snack:
Didn't need one, I wasn't hungry

Lunch:
Turkey vegetable soup
Small salad of cucumbers and radishes
1 Wasa Fiber Rye Cracker

Dinner:
Chicken stirfry
Grapes with Brie cheese

Snack:
Homemade 'mojito' flavored ice-cream popsicle (If I feel like having it)

Hello? Sugar is a drug, honey, and YOU are an addict. As long as you think you NEED the sugar, you will stay an addict. Withdrawal is hard!! It also sets you FREE!

I saw that episode on TV, she was getting pretty mad at Dr. when she wanted her to rid of her mini bagels.

Unhappy Re: give the program a chance to work!

Just looking at that WW menu makes me want to go get a piece of cheese.
I would be soooooo hungry if I ate that.
