You probably didn't "screw up" completely. But use this as a learning experience by learning to count the carbs yourself. It's easy to do, just look at the amounts and kinds of veggies you are served, then figure out the carb count using the nutritional info on those individual foods. For meats that you don't prepare yourself, I would suggest that you count it as "1 net carb" to account for any dextrose solutions, marinades, basting liquids they put on it. As for the barbeque sauce, I don't know what's in that. But again, in the future, either ask for it on the side or eat around it.

| Also.. I always try to be REALLY conservative when estimating carbs. This way if something's wrong I dont' screw up. For example when I'm eyeballing how much salad I'm about to eat I try to measure it at only 80% of what it really is. This way if I'm wrong i don't have to pay for it. Also... Salad dressing can be avoided if you're good. I just have mozarella witih my salads. Some people spray olive oil on their salads as it adds fat and makes it taste better. |
