Post Induction Days Are Here Again

Hello everyone,
my name is Angie, and I'm new to this board, but not new to doing Atkins.

Unfortuately, I didn't stay committed to following the program, and after losing 10lbs or so, went off program and continued to gain, and gain, and gain.

My eatting habits are also out of control, lots of pasta, rice, potatoes with large portions of meat, chicken or fish, salads and vegetables, and my weakness fully leaded soda. But even worse than that, eatting my second main meal of the day, piggy anywhere from 10.00 P.M to after midnight, depending on what time my boyfriend eats his main meal, needless to say i'm at my highest weight ever, somewhere between 216 and 220.

So, I'm about to start the 14 day induction phase again, and could use a lot of encouragement.

Is anyone else getting ready to start? And could we do a role call as to how many members are on the board regularly, posting, and losing.

Thanks,

Angie,
AnewMeFl

Hi there. I'm on my 2nd day of starting induction over. I lost 47 lbs. and then went off. Gained 10 back. Now i'm back. This is my 2nd day. I've got the induction headache from lack of caffeine. I know i'll be living on Tylenol today, but it will be worth it. I have a formal xmas party in December. My goal is to lose at least 25 lbs. by then. With the commitment to this WOL, we can do it!

Good Luck. It'll get harder before it gets easier.

Welcome back!
Check out the Second Time Around Club a little farther down on the forum menu. Doing Induction the second or third time will yield different results than the first time a person does it, and it's good to know more or less what to expect.
All the best to you!

Welcome aboard Angie!
I just started yesterday. It was a rough one only for the fact that I had a killer Migraine. So that is good for killing the hungries. Good luck. You did this before so you know it works and that you can do it. Don't forget to drink your water.

Welcome! I too tried this (along with the pineapple diet, the cabbage soup diet, and several others)... off and on throughout my weight loss/gain past... but now I'm totally committed to KNOWING this is the way.... even if I sometimes slip in practicing it.. oops....

and they're right.. the first was the hardest for me.. but it was working so well I'd have been crazy not to go for it... but I went to OWL VERY quickly (almost accidently)... and although my progress has slowed, it's steady.. and I can't complain...

I'm here to stay... hope you will be too

Unfortunately, I gained 18 lbs. (8.2kg) weight while going back to school for Practical Nursing. Now, I'm not surprised there are heavy nurses when it should be the opposite due to knowldege & experience alone! You're running on your feet, running out of time, eating on the run WAY too much. Realized I HAD to plan my meals, cut the bread & processed items.

I'm on day 11, but realize I'm not being strictly legal... the first time I did Atkins in 1997, I followed the rules as far as the food lists, paid no attention to carb counting or artificial sweetener count. Had absolutely no problem losing 22 lbs (10 kg).

Now at age 50 (5'8"), I started the diet 11 days ago at 158 lbs (71.8 kg). Scale says 150 lbs. (68.2kg) after full breakfast of 2 slices Louis Rich Turkey bacon, 5 pancakes made with 1 tbs. flaxmeal, 16 crushed pork rinds, 1/8 tsp. cinnamon, 2 eggs, 1/4 cup heavy cream, 2 pkgs. of Splenda, served with 1/8 cup Vermont Sugar free maple syrup made with Splenda mixed with 1 tbs. melted butter (and there was syrup still on the plate). IT WAS GOOD. Although, I think the Splenda in the pancakes could be cut in half or eliminated entirely due to the addition of syrup.

I realize I'm probably not into total induction or ketosis, but I can live with that. I'll just keep to what I'm doing until I lose the last 10 lbs. (4.5kg) & if it looks like I need to go into full ketosis to lose the last 10 lbs., I'll tighten up & count the carbs & artificial sweeteners.

Good luck everyone,
jansails
