Question Hidden Sugars Question

Hi!
This is my first post. I'm new to this board and I think it is going to be a great resource and a fun way to stay motivated! I'm looking forward to sharing recipes.

This is my second time on Atkins and I'm nearing the end of my induction phase.
I can be extremely strict for 14 days but now I am looking forward to adding some more variety to my menu.

Here are my questions:
I see that Mayo and Bacon and Deli Meat are allowed - but I have not been able to find any without some form of sugar.
Every Mayo in my grocery store has sugar in it. I have used it on induction before without any trouble - but I don't want to overlook a sugarless option if it available.
The same for Bacon and deli meat - they all have sugar.

Any brand name suggestions? What are you guys buying?

Thanks so much!

Can't help you on the bacon and deli meat. Isn't it amazing what they add sugar too? I was label reading the other day and it seemed like everything I picked up had sugar in it...tartar sauce...salad dressing..even manwich meal...I thought that might have been ideal for the cupboard in case I was having a very busy day..how quick that would have been. But there was sugar in it. CRAZY! A CONSPIRACY I tell ya...

Anyway...as far as the mayo goes you could always make your own. It is supposed to be very easy. I have seen a lot of emails mentioning Helman's mayo. I think it still has some sugar in it but I am not sure.

Congrats on your success so far.

Best foods mayo, which I use, does not have sugar on the label.

A lot of people recommend Boars Head deli meats and bacon because it doesn't contain sugar.

Since you're a second timer, I'd like to invite you over to the Second Time Around Forum. We're a great group of highly-motivated people who are intensely bonded and give each other constant support. You would be warmly welcomed and have a blast over there!!!!!!

Thanks!

I'll look for Best Foods mayo at the store & I'll check out the Boar's Head stuff too.
I don't use deli meats alot - but it would be nice for a quick lunch occasionally - but not if it is going to set me back. Not worth it! <giggle>

I will check out the second time around forum! Thanks for the invite
This is a GIGANTIC and ACTIVE community and its easy to get overwhelmed.

Thanks again!

I have a real hard time finding deli meats and bacon without sugar as well. Truth be told, I usually just avoid them; however, if you have a Trader Joe's near you, you might want to check it out. They have a sugar free mayo, as well as several varieties of sugar free sausage.
