Default Induction Newbies: What did YOU eat today?

I ate:

3 sausage links
and
3 eggs
in 1/2 T butter
with 1/2 oz cheddar
and 1 oz ham

6 lettuce wraps
with turkey
and swiss cheese (2 oz total)
and 4 pieces of bacon

1 cup broccoli
with 1.5 oz cream
and 1 oz cheddar

5 oz pork loin
with 1 cup snow peas
in 1 T sesame oil

1 string cheese

I had 4.5 oz of cheese, which is a tiny bit over the limit, but that's okay! I'll kick it to the curb tomorrow!

Total according to fit day:

136 g fat (63%)
19 g carb (5 g of which were fiber, so 14 g net carb) (4%)
150 g protein (33%)

Share your menu from today here!

It looks good, girl! Don't the snow peas make you hungry? They totally kill me, along with carrots and broccoli!

Anyway, *hip bump* You have the cleochatra cha cha tiara of approval!

You crack me up

I ate too many veggies too, didn't I? Whoops, I transposed in my head the 2 and 1 cups I'd prefer 2 cups of other veggies and 1 of salad

Snow peas and hungry? Nah, they were kinda raunchy actually. I love snow peas but apparently not the way I cooked them this time ha.

Hey Kimberly

I'm not an induction newbie, but I'll tell ya what I had to eat today anyway. LOL

Breakfast: 2 egg omelette with cheddar jack, diced chicken, tomato, mushrooms and a bit of garlic salt.

Lunch: Left over chicken/broccoli alfredo

Dinner: Spicy montreal seasoned steak with spaghetti squash w/ butter & parm.

When I talked to the Atkins Center - back in the day when Dr. Atkins was still around and runnin' things LOL - I was told that the 3 cups were a "guideline" because people are forever measuring incorrectly, underestimating the amounts they're eating, didn't have access to carb counters (yet lol), or didn't have or wouldn't use food scales, etc - and 3 cups was a good way to make sure everyone stayed within their 20 gram limit.

I ditched the cups a long time ago and bough myself a digital food scale. Not only is it more accurate for translating carb counts, but I get to eat a *lot* more veggies

3 1/2 years on this WOE - and it hasn't failed me yet.

Just my $.02

Hi all !!
I started the "induction" on Aug. 20th. I was 140 lbs. ..... My goal is 125 lbs.
I'm 5'5"
It's Aug. 24th and I've lost 4 lbs so far.

Yesterday I ate:

1 Jimmy Dean 3 cheese Omelet (5 carbs)
1 Strip steak (0 carb)
5 quarts of H20
1 Atkins Advantage bar (2 net carbs)

I'm just not that hungry anymore. I forced myself to finish the steak. (No kidding)

This is a GREAT db!

A couple of months ago, I ran into a group of students from the Culinary Institute of America. I asked them specifically about measuring versus weighing. They told me that weighing foods, like meat, grains, nuts, vegetables was much more accurate than tossing them into cup measures and in a professional kitchen--they weighed these items. For measuring liquids they use either fluid ounces or mililiters. That's reflected on the USDA's website, which gives you the cup measure and their equivalent weight in grams.

Kimberly...I am coming to your house...that all sounds really GOOD!

B: 2 eggs fried in olive oil
L: 1 cup salad with 4 oz hamburger and 1 T dressing
Snack 1 oz mozz cheese
And dinner I think will be
Emerald Isle soup
dijon chicken
salad and 1 T dressing.
Snack 2 oz mozz cheese.

That would bring my numbers to Fat 126g 66%, Carbs (21-6)15g 4% and protein 126g 30%

BROOK!!!! You taught me something new!! My first week I averaged 14 g carbs. But had my three cups. And this week I am still under the 20 with my three cups...I did not know that I could have added some more vegies!!!! Thanks...even though my induction is up tomorrow.
