2chins...
Get yourself a copy of Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, version 2002 (DANDR for short) and read it thoroughly, focussing mainly on the chapter on Induction, the Rules of Induction and the Acceptable Foods list.
Some cheeses are fine, but they are limited to 3 or 4 ounces a day. (the book will specify which cheeses you can have on induction) Cheese can possibly slow some folks down...it's different for everyone.
Jimmy Dean Sausage...if the ingredients aren't on the Acceptable Foods list you can't have them.
Mushrooms are allowed but you are limited to a certain amount a day as you'll see on the Acceptable Foods list.

If you are following the Rules, and eating the proper quantities from the Acceptable Foods list, drinking the required amount of water, exercising regularly then you will be doing everything you can to maximize your weight loss.

Asking questions here is great, but you really need to read the book so that you understand the 'why' behind the diet, and so you have it handy to refer to when you need it.

I have read the book, twice! Also read the online info however I hear that these foods slow people down, the reason I ask.
Thank you for your input and congrats on your progress.

I also hear that some foods help you speed up the progress, i.e. shrimp/fish.

I agree with Moochie, following the plan to the letter is the best way to lose the most weight. I don't think either fish or shirmp will either speed the process or slow it down, nor do I think cheese or mushrooms with stall. Some folks do have have problems with cheese after OWL. They find that they are eating to much as it is a comfort food.
It can be confusing, but stick with it and you'll do well.

I think you will have to see if how your body reacts to it. Some people can tolerate some food better than others. During induction I had mostly my 3 oz of cheese. A few days less. And I lost. I didn't eat any sausages because I couldn't find any without sugar. And I ate mushrooms..in my omelets and fried...with a sour cream/mustard sauce. I lost 12 pounds during induction...9 pounds the first week and 3 the next. You will have to see...I certainly wouldn't avoid them because someone else had a problem to them. Good luck!

Those three foods are staples for me. Personally, I don't buy into "stall" theories. I just enjoy my food, and affirm I have the perfect body for me now. I don't need fast results - I need lasting results.

I have a comment about sausage and induction. Most sausage like JD does have sugar. On induction, I always just bought ground pork sausage from the butcher and seasoned it myself. All processed meats contain some form of sugar.

Maybe but the one that I bought says 0 sugar... maybe its hidden somewhere but right now all I have to go by is the label... so I will stick with what most have replied... and just see what happens for me.

Thanks all
