Default Why I Gave up on Atkins after success..

I read a post that wanted to know why did you give up on atkins after success....here are my reasons. I can say personally that i gave up on atkins after success, because I couldn't handle it. I wasn't ready for the responsibility of being thin. Let me explain..

1.) In the beginning, I thought..oh those foods are bad, don't eat them. I blamed a piece of refined, preserved, sweetened piece of food for making me fat. I have JUST learned that it was never the food that made me fat, it was me. I was always trying to place the blame on something else instead of taking accountability for my own actions...there's a surprise! I am responsible for what I put in my mouth..I can't blame the poor innocent food! It is guilty of nothing other than being a carb loaded piece of food. Sorry Mr. Brownie, but you are no longer for me. I will miss you, but I have missed my collar bones much more!

2.) I wasn't ready to lose my best friend. I always relied on food when things got rough. I didn't replace one habit with another. When things got really hard, I had to turn to food. I probably would have gone crazy if I didn't!! I used to ALWAYS play softball, so now I take my aggressions out at the batting cages!!

3.)I also looked at holidays as an oppurtunity to eat goodies. I would have planned cheats..I know I know..it was wrong. I have since learned to celebrate with activities, not by stuffing my face.

Oh yea, and the coupons are the devil....i'll explain that one later!!

Thanks betty! I have to say, I was reading a post that was talking about cheating and you said it'll wreak havoc on your blood sugar and you cannot do it. It's not the Atkins way..and i should have listened to you. Thanks for YOUR honesty. I gotta tell you, your no-nonsence woe/wol has really helped me to shape up. That's how I have to be. Cut and dry about the way I eat and live. If nothing else, I didn't want you to sprint your skinny behind to kick my big behind...besides there is NO way I could get away w/ all this weight!! Thanks for being you!
