| I use stick butters. I've seen some spreadable butters, but I personally prefer Land O' Lakes. ![]()

| Wouldn't it say on the label if it's butter or margarine or whatever? |

| If I'm not mistaken, Country Crock is a margarine spread. Real butter is not only more expensive but it says right on it: "Butter" (If it says, "I can't believe it's not butter", well you can. Run. Fast.). I buy the Kroger brand of salted or unsalted butter, because it is less expensive. Many stores will carry their own brand of butter, including Wal-Mart.

| You sound very smart to me. You are questioning the products you put in your mouth. Thats awesome! Thats what us Atkineers do! I don't believe the crock people offer real butter. You definately want to find a brand of real butter. Never eat margarine again. Margarine is a perfect example of a healthy food that was turned into something fake and horrible for the body. I buy my butter at Costco - about 7 bucks for 64 oz. (4 one lb solids...) The brand name is Kirkland Signature. I personally believe it is very important for my Atkins success to have a taste of butter everyday. It is rich and satisfying and your body thinks wow - this is yummy - we aren't starving anymore! I can release the extra fat stores. YAY! Good luck Lexky. This is the right place to ask all questions. When I first started, I didn't know anything. I'm so grateful for the monitors here - they taught me everything I know. |

| I agree, you're definitely smart for asking. Often labelling is different from country to country too. Better safe the sorry! Welcome aboard and here's to your success. |

| Butter has to stay cold in order to remain fresh unlike margarine. I'm satisfied that I can have butter, its so delicious and feels so forbidden.

| Real Butter typically has very few ingredients listed such as: Cream/sweet cream, salt and annato (yellow coloring used in commercially sold butter since the late 1800s) If what you are buying has any plant oils or hydrogenated oils/partially hydrogenated oils listed in the ingredients it is NOT butter. I would not use it. Hydrogenated=transfats. Transfats= increased risk of cancer. Besides, butter tastes 100% better to me! |
