| Your estrogen levels might still be high enough that your body is making efforts to hang onto the fat just slightly longer than the average person. Also, if you are suffering to somke degree from PCOS, weight might come slightly more slowly (darned hormones), but it is coming off... your hubby is noticing, too! Exercise is an immeasurably important step to take in your journey, especially as the weight loss may tend to "show" more than be registered by the scale. So get fit, keep it up, and soon you won't even care what the scale says because you are looking so fab!

| First off congrats on the 7 pound weight loss. Secondly, I agree with Cleo. In fact, one of the doctors who worked for Atkins more or less stated that pregnancy (or a history of being pregnant) has the ability to change your metabolism slightly. More over you're older now than when you did Atkins before. And age affects your metabolism too. So comparing your weight loss a few year ago to your weight loss now isn't a fair comparison. Thirdly, I have to ask....what exactly do you mean by "modified Atkins that that would include a bit more low-carb veggies (arparagus, brocolli, cucumber, etc...)" because those veggies are totally acceptable during the Induction phase?

| Hi totalele: Well i'm not an expert on Atkins at the moment, but I am an expert on losing weight after having a baby. My son is now almost 2 (in January), but I recall being able to drop my weight almost back to normal by the end of that first spring he was born. I went from 125 to 175 when I was pregnant and did get back down to 125 by the end of summer, but am up 10 lbs for just eating badly over the past summer. Anyway, you'll realize your hips will just start slimming on their own as time goes. I didn't do Atkins to lose my baby weight, but I'm sure it might help. I actually feel like my weight loss ability has been better since being pregnant, maybe my metabolism sped up or i'm just more active. But really, you'll lose weight, but your body might be a bit different in size in some areas, it's just adjusting. Be patient and good luck!

| Thanks for the answers, guys! I guess that the combo PG (even if about 2 years ago) and PCOS did screw up my metabolism... Megs~ I say modified, because I didn't intent in restric thos veggies to the amounts Atkins allow on the induction, kwim? In short, I would allow myself to eat those freely.... which ended up not happening, because my brain censored me and I'm only eating the amount allowed..hehehe... I'm also trying to drink more water... Thanks again, guys... |
