| Torina, I am not sure, but you could experiment with heavy cream, water, a packet of Splenda and a little cocoa powder. Brook does this thing with cream cheese, Splenda and cocoa power that is HEAVEN so I am sure it would translate over to hot chocolate as a treat. PM Brook and ask her, she knows everything. When she tells you how, be sure to tell me too. Deb Quote:

| Thats it. I have it often. Get some heavy cream, unsweetened cocoa powder and splenda Dilute the cream about half with water, heat and stir in the cocoa and splenda. Its is soooo good on cool nights. Also DaVince and Atkins both have peppermint Sugar free syrup and you can add a touch of that for an extra tang. Just don't overdo the cream cause its limited.... |

| If you are 'desperate' for something, you might want to look deeper into this. Are you eating something that's triggering this craving? There are two things you can do here. You can look for a low carb substitute. or You can take this opportunity to wage war on the cravings/sugar monster that is still alive and kicking, and teach him that you won't be feeding him anymore. When I was going through raving cravings early in Atkins, I had cravings like that too....and when I had them, I would eat something, but I would feed myself something legal and not sweet...like a boiled egg...or some leftover meat. My downfall was sweets, so I didn't want to keep going down that same path...even if it was with sugar-free things. After all, we are only allowed 3 servings of sweetener a day, and I wanted to pick and choose carefully, and try and go without as much as possible. My brain learned that if it was hungry, it would get fed...but if it was craving something bad for me, it also would get fed, but with something that was ok for me to eat. I wanted to stop that whole craving thing once and for all, and I did! I get a hankering for something once in a while, but it doesn't feel desperate for it like in the past. |

| Thanks Moochiecat.. The only reason I got the craving was because I saw the box of hot cocoa. During my induction period I haven't craved any sweets which is awesome! I just like hot chocolate and I wanted to be prepared for the cold weather coming our way. As soon as I wrote the recipe down, I went into my kitchen and had tuna fish for dinner.. |
