Default Helpppp im desperate :[

So I was on atkins about 4 days and every day I gained a pound. I was up almost four pounds and I was ready to flip out. I stopped it immediately.

I just dont know why I gained those 4, was I eating too much protein and not enough fiber? was the waste of the food weighing me down?

i'm attempting the diet again today because I definitely ate alot of carbs during thanksgiving and I want to drop about 10 by christmas when we have the family dinner.

Hi and welcome. I have a list of questions/requests so bear with me

1. Post a couple of days of your menues. Include the amounts (ounces, cups, tablespoons, etc.) of the food you were eating.

2. How much water were you drinking?

3. Did you exercise?

4. Were you eating any of the low carb foods like low carb bars, shakes, etc. If so what were they?

5. You can expect to lose 5-10 % of the weight you need to lose during the first 14 Days of this diet.

6. The daily weight gain of one pound sounds more like water weight gain (unless you were eating 3500 more calories than your body requires each day. Were you eating any highly salted foods like bacon, pork rinds, etc.?

Breakfast -
1 piece of sausage, 1 egg

Lunch - 1 cup of broccoli or cauliflower with butter

Dinner - 8oz steak (i would've eaten more veggies with dinner but i was stuffed)

the water.. definitely NOT enough. maybe 2 or 3 glasses a day.

Thats what i basically ate every day when i was on the diet.

Today i've had

Breakfast - coffee & sausage 240 calories

Lunch - I made a 3.5oz steak and ate part but I cant cook lol so it was gross and i fed the rest to my dog probably 80-100 calories? oh and a 12oz glass if ice water and half a diet coke

Dinner - My mom is making baked pork chops with potatoes and carrots but i'll probably eat a pork chop and broccoli, a couple glasses of ice water and the other half of my diet coke.

I'm also buying bagged salad today to help me with eating more veggies.

I don't eat any low carb shakes or bars but I do get this 7gms of carbs per slice whole wheat bread/high fiber that my grocery store sells and its only 35 calories a slice. Its really good.

I also have been working out twice a day.

Drop the bread from you Induction Menu and eat only what you are allowed to eat during Atkins Induction. If you don't have Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002 edition handy, then look at these two threads in the FAQ section while you get your copy.

Pork rinds are pig not cow....but yes, they can be a bit gross to handle. I use mine to scoop up tuna salad...sounds super gross, but it's surprisingly tasty.

As others have mentioned I also encourage you to read the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, version 2002, DANDR for short. It's a definite must read so you understand the 'why' behind the diet.

Yes, you do have to give up things you love...but think about what those things have ever done for you other than make you fat.
Some things like whole grain breads will be introduced later on at the appropriate time, so no need to fret.

I don't know about you but I want this weight GONE, gosh darn it....and the best way I know of getting rid of it is to read the book, follow the Rules and eat correctly from the Acceptable Foods list. Eating also includes correct water intake...64 ounces per day PLUS an additional 8 ounces for each 25 pounds you want to lose. I think of the water as being the means to flush that fat out of my body and I have a water bottle near me at all times.
