| Can't think of any low carb sweets to suck, I'm afraid. For the bad breath... well, luckily I never had that prob, but am told that the more water you drink the better the breath! Sal

| I can't remember exactly what he said, but Dr. Atkins said something about eating parsley when you have ketone breath. Renee

| The parsley thing was in DANDR 2002, but I can't recall exactly where. Renee

| He did say to eat parsley. And it's true that if you drink lots of water it'll dilute the ketones. There are a few mints out there that are acceptable...the ones I've seen are under the brand "Blitz". Blitz also makes gum, or you could try cinnamon Trident or Altoids sugar-free cinnamon chewing gum, which is my personal favorite. There are two things to remember. First, read the ingredients and make sure that they are all acceptable. Second, read what the serving size is and stick with it--It has to count towards your sweetener allowance. That's one of the reasons I like Altoids gum...one serving size is two pieces, so I just have one and call it half a serving... If I recall correctly, the breath tends to go away after a few months. Either that or you don't notice it anymore... |

| I have a small bottle of mouthwash at work and one in my purse, so when I go to the ladies room, I'll give a quick swish if I think I need it. Works great, and you don't have to be concerned about carbs or whether you can have it or not, as long as you aren't drinking it! |

| Just keep a toothbrush and some toothpaste handy and you'll do great!

| Check the label. Just because they are sugar-free does not mean they are legal or carb-free. My husband eats the sugar free Life Savers and I am looking at a package now... In four pieces you get 14g carbohydrate with 13 being sugar alcohols which you have to count. They are sweetened with Sucralose and excesss consumption can have a laxative effect. Sorry, but you have to learn to be a label-reader! Deb Quote:
