| It's not a big deal, it's not like you're going to gain the 5lbs you lost back because of a piece of chocolate cake. If I were you I'd probably do at LEAST another week of induction. The whole reason the diet errr way of life works is because it's very strict. If you cheat or make exceptions, it's just not going to work as well as it could for you. That's just my opinion but I'm only on day 9 so I really don't know anything |

| Okay just my thought..... were you planning on staying on induction or heading to OWL? If you were planning on staying on induction do so,if you were planning on heading to Owl I personally would do at least another week of induction. Only because you don't know if that chocolate stopped your ketosis or not. Where if you give yourself another week on a clean induction you give your body more of a chance to flush that sugar out. I am sure someone who knows more than mewill be around to tell ya though! GL and WTG on the initial weight losss! |

| It could be a VERY big deal because she may have thrown herself out of ketosis and moving to OWL really won't get her back as well as staying on induction.... just a little FYI Quote:

My suggestions are to plan ahead on what you plan to eat, at least a day ahead. always have your meals prepared and ready to eat before you are hungry. Plan, plan and plan some more for success or you will surely fail. You spoke of having a horrible day at work. Just like a bunch of us, you turned to carby foods(choc cake). Then this action caused you to eat even more sweets. I have been there and done this in the past. You have to break the addiction to sweets if you want to succeed eating low carb, MHO. One thing we can't control in our lives is stressful events. but we can control what foods we put into our mouths. This takes determination. I have found that when I chose to eat cheatfree, then I was able to not cheat. I felt empowered, a wonderful feeling. But if I ever allowed myself to cheat, then it was like opening the floodgate to eating the foods not allowed eating this way. So now I don't allow myself to cheat. Since you are on your 14th day of induction, only you can decide whether you want to stay longer on induction or move on to OWL. What's done about the choc cake is done. Don't stress over it. Move forward, eat the allowed foods, drink all your water, exercise and don't look back. Nothing tastes as good as being thinner. Speaking from experience. I know you can do this. If I can anyone can. BTW!!! WTG!! on the 5 lb. loss. I am proud of you. Keep up the great effort and become a BIG looser !!! Being a BIG looser is a great feeling. Happy Low Carbing Becky Sue |

| Strangelittlegirl, there is not a person on this board who hasn't been in your shoes .......... probably more than once, in fact. It's fine, and you're not a failure. Here's my suggestion: First, remember that this way of life (like all things in life) is a series of steps. Some forward; some backward. But what matters is what you do most of the time, and in your case you have 13 days to offset that one. Pretty darn good, if you ask me. Second, try to learn from what happened. If you can identify what triggered your slip, you can prepare for it the next time it happens. Finally, I think that you'll find that your body is a wonderfully adaptive machine and very forgiving. One day may not have set you back as you fear. The trick is to find ways to ensure that it IS only one day. *smiles* But that's a trick that every one of us is still learning.

Thinking that you've blown it might set you up to just go off the diet. What you think is more important to your diet in this sense than what you eat. Because if you shrug it off, come back onto induction for a couple more weeks to get solidly back into ketosis, you'll be way far ahead of where you'll be if you give into the train of thought that self-criticism will take you.Come back and get on the wagon with me! I'm on day 15 of a very long haul through induction - I won't be here just two weeks...

| Get back on it!! You CAN do it!!! I am still battling the urge to eat choccies, esp as there are 5 tins of chocolate on the desk next to me at work....but so far I have resisted the temptation and if I can do it, so can you!!!! I'm on day 11, gym scales say I've lost 9lbs, home scales say 7lbs....so we'll go in between and say 8lbs!!!! most weighing is done on the gym scales though!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!! You can do it, I promise!!!

| I agree with what most people have said. You have to look at this as a new way of life. You will have fall-offs, mistakes, cheats, whatever you want to call them. You just have to have a whole lot more good days than bad. I also recommend that you stay on induction another week before moving on. Drink lots of water, too. That will help flush everything out of your system! Most of all, don't beat yourself up. You are worth the effort! |
