Default Re: Grocery List - what you think?

Looks good. When I was on Induction, I just carried a copy of the Induction Acceptable Foods list with me on grocery trips, that way if I saw a veggie (that looked fresh and was on sale), I could quickly check my list and see if it was "legal" or not.

But I do have a question about the Diet 7-UP. Is it caffeine free and what's the sweetener used?

Also read the labels to any packaged food you buy. Many foods you wouldn't think contain sugar has sugar in them once they are processed in any way. The salad dressings are one to watch out for. The chicken wings are another. Some frozen chicken wings are injected with a sugar-salt solution to help keep them juicy once they've been cooked. Regarding the bacon you buy, pay attention to the serving size listed as well. I've seen bacons that are 1 carb per serving (1 slice of bacon) and I've seen bacons that are 1 carb per serving (3 slices).

Sounds good to me, also be sure and check the label on the Ranch dressing, the ingredients and carb count can really vary!

I did the same thing that not2 did, when I was on induction and actually for months afterwards, I carried the list in my purse for the same reason! Sometimes you didn't plan on buying a certain veggie but it looked so good you wanted to and if you don't have the acceptable food list with you you may miss out on a good choice!

If you're a seafood/fish lover like me, you might want to add some to your meat choices!

I put things on the list that I like. I looked on the acceptable foods list and most of the things on there are not good to me.

Thanks everyone for your advice.

FYI... I'm back on track today!

Yes it is. If you carefully read the ingredients on shredded cheese bags, it will list cornstarch or wheat starch. They add the starch to prevent the shreds from sticking to each other in the package.
