Since you don't have the book yet, you will find these two links indispensable. The Rules of Induction: What are the Rules of Induction? The Induction Acceptable Foods List: What foods can be eaten on Induction?

| Welcome, Laci, first, read the stickies, You find them on top of this section of the board and Mges pointed you to two of them. These should answer a lot of your questions. As far as Crystal Light and sugar free jello are concerned, these are okay, but plain water is better, if you can do it. Don't forget to add these to the sweetenere allowance (3 a day). sugar free jello is a regular snack for many people on this board, but the main idea of induction is to clean your body from industrial foods, so the less the better. If you really need a sweet tooth snack, grab that jello, though. Welcome again, and congrats to your decision to live life the Atkins way. you've come to the right place - ADBB is a great board with hoards of incredibly helpful, funny and supportive people. yemenitegreen

| McDonald's chicken cesear salads, in my opinion, are NOT ok. Even their grilled chicken is composed of filler and other additives to make it stomachable to people who don't know what real chicken tastes like. Also, most of their dressing options have added sugar and far more carbs than necessary. Stay away during induction. Cook your own chicken at home with a 0 or low carb dressing, or opt for some chicken strips in your grocer's refrigerated section (but watch out for carbs from spices).

| If there is aspartame in the Crystal Lite or jello, then no, you can't have it. For Induction, it's probably best to do it as clean as possible and avoid sweet drinks like that. You can always make some iced decaf tea with a little lemon if you want variety. If you really feel you can't go without a sweet snack (and think about this, because for most of us, giving in to sweet snacks was what got us fat in the first place) then make yourself a bit of cream cheese with splenda and a sprinkle of cinnamon, or a drop of orange extract. You can freeze this in little blobs and enjoy it guilt free. And remember that only water counts as water, so any other beverage you drink is seperate from your 64+ ounces of water you need to be drinking. |
