i am back and missed everyone...

Hi all,

Its been a very long time since i have posted. Here is a little update on my life for my atkins family.
October we bought our first house, Awesome. We moved everything in on october 15. If you remember i had applied for a receptionist postistion with the school district, well i got it. I have been working since october 10 and trying to unpack. My older girl who is 6 started her new school which our back fence opens up to, and i have one of my husbands coworkers sister babysitting the younger one and the older one when she gets out of school. On Nov 13. i had just unfished packing things and was excited to have my husband return from a work trip. and we had a leak in the upstairs masterbath, which leaked through the floor and damaged the family room carpet and ceiling. Thank goodness insurance said they cover it. We are still waiting for them to fix it. We didnt go home to texas for thanksgiving (drama, drama, drama, with two of the hubbys coworker and one of their lets say former girlfriend who left one co worker for another coworker). This week since our close friends in this town went home we will be working on painting and giving our house some updates. The major ones will take a while but we will for on the minor at least for now, until we save up for the major ones. I just feel good that i can say i own my home. Now that things smeem to be settling down and getting the hang of work and stuff is going good at home, YOU WILL BE SEEING ME ALOT MORE AGAIN.
IT FEELS GOOD TO BE BACK...although i have to admit i will be starting over on induction day one TODAY.

Aren't house-related issues the most stressful ones (next to relationship problems that is)?

well thanks for the welcome...
note2late- i hope my house issues get over and done with soon. My husband says that its me. He says i will single handliy destroy our new house. First the water issue (he was not here with it happened) and then let me tell you something funny...
One night a few weeks ago around 930pm i decided to boil my eggs (breakfast) for the week. I put about a dozen eggs in a pot went down stairs to finish some laundry. Then i told my hubby, ok i can barely keep my eyes open im gonna go take a shower. so there i go to take my shower...well after my shower i was so tired i decided to go to sleep. Hubby takes his shower and goes to bed about 20 minutes later. About 1130pm i hear this BANG sound and so i thought it must me the new puppy we got for the girls a few weeks earlier than christmas. go check the bathroom were i thought i heard it come form and didnt see anything wrong. so there miss shelly goes back to bed. Then about 1215 i hear what sounds like a shot gun going off and sat straight up in my bed and said *Sh$t* i had just realized i had forgotten to remove the eggs from the burner. So ( I WILL BE HONESTY, I SLEEP IN MY BIRTHDAY SUITE) anyway there i go running down the hallway ( remember i have only been living in this new house for about 2 months) i forgot about stairs that go down to the kitchen and tummbled down the stairs jumped up and ran the rest of the way to the stove, buy this time there is eggs every where. The hubby who was till in bed when i jumped out had gotten out of bed and ran down stairs due to the big thumping noise of me falling down the stairs was standing right behind me when i turned around after removing the pot from the stove.
We had to open up the front door, back door and kitchen window (i am in idaho so it was -10 below on this day). Thought you could use a good laugh.

Thanks for the laugh -- that was a good story. I know the problem - I once did the same thing with eggs in the microwave (ok I was much younger at the time). Same explosion, same horrible smell -- funny my Grandma didn't appreciate the act as much I did your story. I had lots of cleaning to do that day... Thanks for the remembrance.
