| This often happens if you get up too quickly, though your experience seems more severe than I have ever found it myself. How long have you been on induction?

| ...and how often a day do you eat? Do you go longer than the six hours, or do you try and have a few bites every few hours or so to keep your blood sugars level? Some folks say they feel better when their carb count is closer to the 20, so when you are done Induction, you could hop on the first rung of OWL, which is an extra 5 carbs worth of veggies a day. As always, when in doubt, check it out, and go see your doctor! |

| I've been having this problem too. This started just over a week ago, I'm now in my 4th week. I've tried eating more carbs than my initial 2 weeks and I eat frequently but it seems to be getting worse. It's now happening 2-4 times a day. I not only get a really bad head rush (it IS like blacking out almost), but my face/ lips get tingly, once it passes I'll feel a little shaky for a 20 seconds or so then it will all go away.

| I have naturally low blood pressure and this is an issue for me at times. It was especially an issue during induction. My doctor told me it was because of the diuretic effect this way of eating has that was making it really stand out. For me, it was no big deal. It took care of itself in a few days as my body adjusted and my fluid levels planed out. Gonna go with the flow here - talk to your doctor. It's WAY better to be safe than sorry. When you do talk to your doctor, be sure to show him/her a written account of exactly what you've been eating and how much - I'd even go so far as to say don't give your menu a name. Let him/her evaluate the menu on it's own and go from there. The instant you mention "Atkins", you may find that becomes the focus instead of your health issues, and it's an easy arguement to get around when they're looking at a list of whole, natural foods.

| Great suggestions, Brook, as always! Yes, discribe your way of eating, don't label it ATKINS! Some doctors go ballistic when they hear that word. If they only knew! |
