| You say you're keeping your carbs under 20, but are you following the book? Are you eating things like nuts, and low carb bars that contain sugar alcohol? It's not just keeping your carbs below 20, it's eating the right carbs. Maybe post a sample of a day's menu and let people take a look at it.

| Tania, while you might not be able to buy clothes in a shop in Thailand, you can have anything (!) you want tailor-made within 24 hours in Bangkok or Phuket and it costs way way less than storebought stuff in western countries. I got myself 3 silk blouses with lots of extras at a tailors and I paid 60 euro (70 dollars) for all three of them. The only thing you will hardly find in SE Asia in larger sizes are swim suits, but anything else... treat yourself to a lovely dress made of Thai silk As for a quick fix, there ain't one. your body loses weight in the time it feels comfortable with. Keep up the good work and the exercise and you will see the reasults. Did you take measurements? yemenitegreen

| Post a menu or two in Review My Menu and let us have a look at a typical day. Just take a second to read the 'How to Post a Menu' stickie and let's have a gander! A word of encouragement here....remember that whether you lose 4 or 40 pounds, those are pounds that are gone gone gone!! And that's a wonderful achievement. Oy I wish there was a magic wand I could wave over you!! I'd be waving it over me first mind you, lol. Eat correctly, do your exercises and focus more on inches lost than pounds lost...especially if you are exercising and building muscle. The tape measure is your friend. I don't want you ending up losing weight and toning up, but feeling like you failed because you didn't shrink down into a size six or something...know what I mean? |

| Thank you all for the good advice. Goin2Bgood - I knew that there is no quick fix – well, it was worth a try. I left my book with my menus at work, but promise to post a menu first thing tomorrow morning. I’ve also taken my measurements when I started the 6WEC. Have not measured again after that. Yemenitegreen – did not know that I can have clothes made and within 24 hours – wow!! Will definitely look into that. And, I can always have it made smaller once I’ve lost my weight. Moochiecat – LOL – yes, I know what you mean. But it feels bad when somebody (like your BIL) tells you that you are too big!! I still want to strangle him!! So, plan of action – going on strict – VERY STRICT – induction for the next few weeks, stick to my exercise program (maybe up it a little bit) and drink water, water and more water. Maybe I can drown my fat cells – LOL!!!

| Yementigreen, any suggestions on what I can eat while there? I am probably thinking way to far ahead, but this is something that did cross my mind. If possible, I would like to stay on this WOE.

| Tania, most Thai dishes come family style, that is, veggies and fish / meat /prawns on one dish, rice in another bowl. The best bet in Phuket is probably fish, Thailand has an incredible variety of fish and seafood, from the grill or with vegetables, steamed... Pork and Chicken are widely available. Steak is expensive (improted from Australia or NZ), but many beef dishes (with tiny little pices) are quite good Great foods to try are thai beef salad, beef or chicken with thai basil, dishes with morning glory (water or swamp spinach) -an dso many veggies you've never heard of.. The curries are really good, most of them contain cream of coconut, and are fairly hot, so go easy on those, since you can't have rice with'em. In Thailand everyone is used to drinking water at all meals and it is really cheap even in a restaurant. One of my lifesavers on hot days was iced unsweetened green tea (in the supermarkets / at 7eleven). Some salads like laab (chicken salad) may contain roasted rice. But I am sure you will find many options for food. Everywhere in Thailand there are street kitchens, street vendors, beach vendors, food is everywhere - some offer spiedini, little skewers with chicken or whole fishes, prepared on a portable charcoal grill. I just love Thai food (and I love seafood). Hope you have a great trip! yemenitegreen

| Tania, It sounds like you are doing really great so far. Unfortunetly there is only a month between now and Valentine's Day so there will be limits to how much you can lose. Stick to the diet and keep exercising, but don't make unrealistic expectations between now and then. Some people lose quickly and others slowly. Have fun on your honeymoon and relax! Good luck! |

| Keep in mind that even if you don't see the number move on the scale you may very well lose inches and go down sizes. Just keep doing what you are doing. I wouldn't spoil my trip by putting any unnecessay pressure on yourself. Doesn't your guy love you for you? Thats something to celebrate. |

| Yemenitegreen – thank you. I am going to print this and put it in my diary to take with. I also love all seafood, chicken and pork. So, I don’t see a problem why I cannot stay on this WOE and enjoy my holiday. Thanks again. Californiacasey – yes, I am going to enjoy it. Just have to get past my biggest fear before I can do it – FLYING!!!! Tabecat – you are right – he has never complained about my weight. It is just that I know what I can look like. There was a time in my life where putting on a bathing suite never bothered me. No, just wearing my jeans is an issue. But, I will concur my fat cells!!! I want to ask another question – what do you thing about the Fat Fast ??? I took my book last night and started paging and reading through it to find a reason why I am loosing so slowly. Then I found this chapter - Part III, Chapter 20, pages 272 – 274 (in my book). I am seriously considering this. Dr Atkins said that if you are metabolic resistant and you are not loosing weight, you can go on this for 4 – 5 days and then go back to induction. Maybe this is what I need to kick start my metabolism again. Has anybody done this, and does it work?
