Default whats on your grocery list for next week:

I'm looking for meat ideas (not menus) just different than what I've been having.

What are the staples you buy each week:

I usually make sure I have olives and cheese and eggs and tuna, mayo and salad in the house..

but looking for meats and different veggies

did spinach this whole week......boring..........

Cabbage is good. You can sautee it in butter or oil, or just boil it, or mix it up with mayo for a coleslaw-type salad. I find it's versatile and cheap. When you cut it in slices and sautee it you can also use it as a base for meat sauce. Like faux noodles.

I usually check the meat section for what's on sale. Ground beef can be made into burgers, meat loaf...all kinds of stuff.

Lamb chops are nice for a change, but they are a bit pricey. We only eat them a few times a year.

This WOE doesn't have to be boring. See if you can try something new each week. I discovered daikon (white radish) a few weeks ago and I just love it. I cut it up for dipping. You could probably fry it up as hash browns too.

Ground beef. Ground pork for homemade breakfast sausage. Chicken! chicken wings. boneless chicken meat - for grilling, oven dishes, stir-fry...

I love bok choy (and most Asian vegetables). Chicken with morning glory and thai basil - yummy. Whole roast chicken. Napa and savoy cabbage. Broccoli. Bell peppers and a few tomatoes. Salmon - poached, roasted, grilled ... smoked mackerel... cauliflower, of course

I started out the week making a lasagne with thinly sliced zucchini for the noodles and that gave me a lunch out of it, plus another dinner for the two of us.

For staples we always have eggs and sausages (I cook them and we reheat them for breakfasts...also a good quick snack if you like eating them cold)
We buy the mixed greens (arugula, baby spinach, etc) and they last a while so whatever we have there's usually a side salad. We'll add avocado, celery, green onion, tomato to it (if we have it)

Both bf and I pass by a grocery store on the way home from work so quite often we'll just pop in and buy what looks good so we tend to not have a lot of stuff in the fridge other than eggs, cheese, cream.

Our meals stay pretty simple. We'll coat chicken or pork chops in finely grated parmesan cheese with herbs and spices and bake it. Side salad, or steamed veggies with butter on the side.
A roast in the crock pot is wonderful because it does the work for you. We'll throw one in on low in the morning and serve it with mashed cauliflower, or roasted vegetables.

Other ways we do meats are chicken fingers (strips of chicken breast rolled in parmesan and rosemary) dipped in ranch dressing.
Pork roast stuffed with slivers of garlic.
Stir fry with ground turkey, or ground beef, or whatever you fancy. I add in chopped garlic, dried red pepper flakes and chopped fresh ginger for a really nice taste.

Something we enjoyed for a while but ate it too much and got sick of it (lol) was skinless chicken thighs(too oily if you leave the skin on, but you put olive oil in so you do get a fat in there) in a glass ovenproof dish, scatter black olives, dried Italian herbs and some drained canned artichokes over it all. Pour some low sodium chicken broth so the meat is half covered, drizzle some olive oil, a squirt or two of lemon juice and bake till meat is tender...no need to cover it.
Serve that with mashed cauliflower or broccoli.
Hope this helps inspire you!

I recently found Lindas Low Carb recipes so Im trying new stuff this weekend. But in the cart is- Canned chicken, round eye roasts for roast on Saturday, pork sausage for a crustless quiche and for the egg cups for breakfasts. I kinda went crazy shopping last week so Im stocked on cheese and veggies with the exception of needing more radishes
