| The carb count on pepperoni will vary depending on what is in it, so you need to check the information on the packaging or if you buy it unwrapped ask the assistant to show you the pack it comes in.

| DANDR mentions saccharin as another acceptable sweetener, even though Dr. Atkins preferred sucralose. I think he makes those distinctions because aspartame can stall some people. Regardless, all sweeteners are limited to 3 a day. Maybe you could use 1.5 packets in each tea instead of two? |

| You may wish to try getting some Stevia for sweetner. It is much sweeter than Splenda, therefore you use much less, and it tastes fantastic in tea. Plus it won't spike your blood. |

| Thanks for all of the responses. I am going to try to drop it down to 1 1/2 packets and then eventually to 1. (I was using 3 prior to Atkins... I have a love of sweets... or maybe, I really don't like tea that much but it is warm and I like warm.) I did re-read the induction section and found that the very last page 144 has the limit for sweetners. It is under tips and I think the first time I read it, I thought he was talking about if you were having a problem getting into ketosis. Thanks again. |
