Default Ideas for a good snack.

I work at H&R Block and right now, especially, I'm puttin in a lot of hours. Which means I really should bring a snack to work. Any ideas on what I could bring that's tasty and not too much carbs? Any good concoctions?

Oz of almonds. 2g net carbs. Perhaps some will not say acceptable for induction, but they are portable, great tasting and low carb.

Can you bring an insulated lunch bag or small cooler to your office? Better yet, does your office provide a refrigerator/kitchenette for employees?

Here's a list of some foods you can bring for snacks:
Hard-boiled eggs:eggs are roughly 75% fat, so they are a good Atkins food.
Leftover meat like chicken legs, roast beef, etc.
Veggies and dip (be sure to subtract these snack veggies from your daily Veggie amounts.
Cheese
Leftovers from last night's dinner
Packets of tuna fish
Pepperoni*
Pork Rinds*

*These foods can be high in sodium, which can lead to water retention in some folks.

A little container of mayonnaise or salad dressing.
A bottle of frozen water---to keep your snacks cool.

Nuts are okay---after the first 2 weeks of Induction.

If you have a sm cooler u could bring celery sticks stuffed with cream cheese and bacon bits...mmmm very tasty. It is low carb maybe 2 carbs for 2 5" sticks. It also has fiber so I'm not sure of the net carb count. Yummy and good for you. High in fat and satifying.

I love spreading cream cheese on ham and rolling it around a pickle. It's delicious! And acceptable for induction.

String Cheese is a fav of mine, and they keep pretty well. I just love cucumbers dipped in Ken's Bleu Cheese Dressing (1 carb per tbls). I don't know how much space you have to store food, so.......

string cheese has saved my butt manyatimes... also, I know its better to eat fresh foods, but if I am in a hurry to get out the door in the morning, I will greab a small pack of the carl buddig lunch meat and eat that.... I do that a lot of times after work before working out, because by that time I am starving! and that isn't good...
celery stuffed with cream cheese is also delicious!
pepperoni
veggies with dip
jell-o sugar free cup(although not very filling!) I add 2tbs whipped cream on top of mine!
an ounce of nuts if you are that far up the rungs
A BOTTLE OF WATER will do me many times... I get thirsty and have learned not to mistake that for hungry! also, I have found caffeine and diet sodas make me think I am hungry, the more water I drink the better!

All the choices sound good from the other posts BUT if its a small office such as where I work I would try and make the choices not STINKY ones such as the boiled eggs and tuna . I think you should stick more with the raw veggies and meats, cheeses and keep the smellier ones for home snacks.

I refer to this as meal stench warfare. You see, practically everyone in the office is snacking on cookies, chips, grilled cheese sandwiches, french fries, etc. About once a week, someone will bring in doughnuts or muffins. How does one retaliate to the constant barrage of carbs you ask? Tuna or other stinky foods work great.
