(<-----that's supposed to be me patting you on the back, not slapping you on the head )Okay, you've beaten yourself up. Now your very next meal should be an Atkins friendly one. Next thing you have to do. Think what triggered you to eat what you did. You wrote you ate at the office (probably a place were donuts and bagels are in permanent residence, right?) Maybe, you can eat before going to the office or on the way to the office if time is really a problem for you.

| first of all you are NOT a failure!!! You are here, you are trying, that is not a failure! The first few days on induction are the hardest - once you get past them, and you will - it will get easier! I know you can do it and I know you will be successful!

| Atkins is perfect for failures, and all people with no willpower. I myself am weak and spineless, especially when it comes to food. I'm not ashamed of this - I rejoice in this. I have accepted my true nature and have allowed Atkins to save me from myself. Heres the deal. You take it on faith for 2 weeks. You stick to the foods on the approved food list for 2 weeks. 14 days. Anyone can stick for 14 days. And you know why? Because you get to eat! So EAT! Liberal portions of fish and meat and eggs, 4 ouces of cheese and 3 cups of veggies. If you are eating everything that you can eat, and never letting yourself get hungry, you can nail two weeks. Get up early, make yourself a big breakfast, leave the house full! By the time you have done 2 weeks, your body will usually have shifted into ketosis which is a wonderful state of being that will alter your palate and change your appetites. (Sometimes it takes longer, it depends on the individual...) Make up your mind now to embrace Atkins for at least 3 to 6 months before coming to any final conclusions. You will not have to use willpower to stick to Atkins. It will not be hard to do forever. The day will come when this is how you prefer to live. So, get back on induction with your next bite. Guilt is not empowering, in fact it will keep you stuck. Part of the journey is learning how to speak kindly to yourself. You had a speed bump now you are back on track. From now on, you tell yourself that you love yourself enough to eat healthy food that will nourish your body and spirit. Just keep affirming that. Bacon and eggs are great for lunch and dinner too! |

| Everybody messes up, so forgive yourself!! You will do this, and you will be so glad you did! You are not doomed to be fat, you came to the right place. You admitted your mistake, and now you are learning from it. Anytime to feel down on yourself, just remember you are a wonderful person who deserves to be happy. Everyone here is rooting you on!!

| Okay - food can be addicting, just like drugs or cigarettes. People don't break bad habits overnight. It can take a few false starts to get over the withdrawals - don't beat yourself up. You can do this!

| I can only tell you about my experience. My first induction week was very very hard. I couldnt even sleep..and sometimes I got up to have coffee and some cheese to help with the carvings. I remember crying and crying and asking my bf, how was I going to take it for another 12 days, 11 days,10 days.. And then it stopped.I started exercising more and avoiding places or situations that could led me to fail. Today is friday, I know my bf will come home with a huge chocolatethat he will eat while we watch a movie. Im going to prepare some sour cream and mushrooms for me. I always ask myself. "Do you really want to eat that? do you really want to give up, and then start again even fatter?" |
