| use an online site like www.fitday.com to track your carbs and measure the amounts you are eating. A big part of Atkins is we learn with the help of the appetite suppression sideeffect of ketosis to control our food intake and feed only our hunger. On day 2 your ketosis hasn't gotten into high gear yet so just keep eatting your Atkins legal foods the healthy fats and proteins and your 3 cups of veggies. eatting real food as your meat sources should give you carb free meats. Since you say you have an overeating problem i would strongly suggest you practice the advice Dr Atkins gives about how to learn your hunger and eat only 1/2 the food on your plate and stop eatting. if you are true;y hungery you can have a few more bites and stop again. Since you know you can eat as soon as you get hungry again when doing Atkins food is never far away like on other plans and taking control of your eatting will be easier. As you progress on your Atkins and keep practicing this it will get asier to learn and react to only your hunger as your food trigger cause cravings from blood sugars will be eliminated and you can concentrate on learning your emotional triggers through journalling your foods and feelings and eliminate the triggering events. Happy low carbing.

| The good news is you are making changes in controlling WHAT you are eating. If you can make that determination, the ability to start restricting HOW MUCH eat will get easier. The reason I can say this is that what you are eating will make it easier due to the appetite suppression from the ketosis. Give it time it will get better, but in the mean time focus on making sure you are eating off the Acceptable Foods List. Recognizing the full signals your body is telling you will come in time.

| Hi Honeychild. Glad you found us and joined. I had the same problem. Its like my brain was telling me just to eat because I could. I felt out of control and it was scary. But, as soon as you get into ketosis, I think you'll find that you don't have the appetitie. One thing you might try to do is to post your menus and see if there is something the experts can see that you don't. I have been on this board a long time and I have read from others that while Dr A said we can eat cheese, they find they can't...Or Splenda, or sugar alcohols. Also 2big suggested that you use fitday. Its a great tool cause when you start having cravings, you can check back to see what you ate. Anyway, post yesterdays menus and let the experts take a look. | In addition to what 2Big said, you can also start monitoring your portions. The carbs during Induction are already portioned, so you don't have to be as concerned with them---just make sure you are staying within the Induction limits. Proteins are "liberally" eaten. This doesn't mean you sit down and eat 5 chickens because eat chicken has 0 net carbs. If you look at the recipes in DANDR 2002, the meat "portions" are about 4-8 ounces. So do what 2Big advises, if you toss 16 ounces of meat on your plate, only eat half that amount, wait an hour or so and see if that satisfies your appetite. If you are still hungry, go back and eat half of that half, wait a hour or so and see if your appetite is satisfied. In terms of added fat, read the sticky at the top of this forum concerning fat intake. 1 tablespoon of olive oil, mayo or butter is typically enough to make your meal 50-75% fat.
