Thumbs up Day 9 and going strong!

Just wanted to check in and share my success, hope to inspire others.

In spite of the fact that I had an *actual* cold for 4+ days (induction flu normally doesn't yield post nasal drip, does it? ), I am down to 140 as of this morning. That's 5 lbs., people! Are you listening?!?

Found that scrambled egg with some cheese makes me just as happy as a slice of bacon, and that sauteed spinach is maybe my favorite food right now.

I have not been totally perfect; had a Sobe Lean with caffeine one day and a diet root beer with aspartame another. I *have* kept a journal, which I know helps in so many ways and keeps me accountable (also helps me remember to drink enough water!).

My normal exercise schedule involves yoga and pilates 2-3 times/week, but today I strapped ds into his stroller and went for a 20-minute, very hilly, walk.

I have eaten more veggies in the past 9 days than I have in months, I think, and no sugar has passed my lips. Breaking my chocolate brownie and ice cream habits has been easier than anticipated, at least so far. I really needed to clean up my act in that department; portion control had ceased to exist and those items were replacing the healthy, whole foods that Dr. A puts at the center of his WOE.

Onward, to week two!

Wow, that's so great and totally motivational for me!! I have been kind of frustrated but I was on day 7 yesterday...except that I found out my beef patties have been having corn flour added to their mixture!!! My heart is currently broken so I guess I'm sorta starting over...your success is really helping to make me feel more determined. What are you eating for the most part? I love spinach...but I'm always scared of overeating it bc I need my onions and tomatoes for my omelets!

((Nervosia)) You will work it out! I'm sure you're eating much better than you had before, corn flour or no corn flour, so keep that in mind...

What have I been eating? I guess these are the most common items:
Breakfast: egg w/cheese plus celery or hunk of brie w/celery and decaf coffee with cream
Snack: hard-boiled egg or sliced turkey w/mayo
Lunch: burger with lettuce, cheese, and mayo or tuna salad
Dinner: Sauteed spinach w/olive oil and sometimes mushrooms, and a protein (chicken, beef, or fish)
Snack: splenda-based diet root beer with some cream in it and a few pork rinds...

And, of course, water water water!

I have had a hard time locating pumpkin or rhubarb, which would really solve my yummy dessert issues.

Much success to you!
