Default A cup, an oz. ???

Well I just read that Stall's thread and Friday I am going to get my scale and something so that I correct MY problem. I can measure cups but I don't have any way to measure my food in oz. So far I think I have been doing OK... I try to guesstamate on the low side so that I don't go over but it's not an exact science lol. And with all the mistakes I have been making during my induction, I have already decided to stay on induction as long as possible. That and I want to see loss as quickly as possible.

*And I WILL find the fresh food market this week!!!*

You can measure ounces with a small food or diet scale. But typically for Induction, the only thing you measure in ounces is cheese. This can be done easily. Buy an 8 ounce block of cheese and divide it into 8 equal pieces by slicing the block in half, then slicing the halves in half, then slices the quarters in half.

The book lists heavy cream and sour cream in ounces as well, but that's a semi-typo, because liquid foods and semi-solid foods (like butter) are measured in fluid ounces or in the measuring cups.

Might be mistaken but think most soda cans are 12 ounces.

Thank you! This is a great post, measuring is very important. I got a food scale for 5$, and its been worth 10x that much.

I bet you could even get one at a used place (Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc.).

I bought an electronic one (the geek in me) that goes back and forth between ounces and grams with a button, plus, can subtract the weight of the container you start with (put the container on, press the zeroing feature, and then start weighing the contents)

It is a real blessing, I think.
