| First, it is only the 5th day of Induction. Having 25 pounds to lose puts you in a category of Atkineers where a successful Induction might be 2.5 pounds loss over the two weeks. Do not stress over this -- if the scale is causing you headaches or making it worse, stay away from it. For some, it takes a bit of time for the losses to start happening. Not everyone sees immediate results, which doesn't mean their losses aren't going to happen. We have had people go the first two or three weeks without losing at all and then start losing like crazy. (Bren, right?) I have read your last posts and you seem to be over-analyzing this WOE IMO. Just make sure you are following the rules, and the weight will eventually take care of itself. This is not crash diet approach to weight loss, but a lifetime approach to eating healthy. After you have done the first two weeks, perhaps then you should ask these questions -- am I healthier, happier now than before when I was eating "whites"? Trying to micromanage your weight loss by measuring daily often leads to nothing but heart-ache as the body has its own clock for when it releases the water and glycogen its retaining.

It means you keep going, have patience, and give your body all thetime it needs to adjust to ketosis. Your answers aren't on the scale kiddo. You can lose entire sizes on Atkins and see no scale movement at all. With such a miniscule amount of weight to lose, you don't need to see a big dip in the scale. Keep going. Watch how your clothing starts to get looser and looser. |

| Give Induction it's full 14 days before throwing the towel in. Also, you might want to watch how much processed meats you are eating. Bacon usually has a high sodium content and sodium might cause water retention, which will show up on the scales as either weight gain or no weight loss.

| Oh, I do eat a lot of bacon so maybe I have water retention then? Steak, chicken, fish, bacon, eggs and pork rinds are what i eat. I limited the veggies and it is sooo hard for me. I love my salad I am hanging in there. I know 25 lbs may sound "little" to some of you here but everybody has a weight they are happy with and mine is 25 lbs less |

| I have tons of weight to lose and 25 pounds is 25 pounds...not as much as I have to lose but I personally don't see it as a little weight. Trying carrying a 25 pound bag of dog food. That stuff gets heavy! Listen to Kent. He knows what he's talking about (and he looks great). I've been complaining of not losing anything lately, but when I measured myself again this morning, I was down 6 1/2 inches from 3 weeks ago! So get yourself a measuring tape if you don't already have one. Also grab a pair of slacks and try them on each week to gauge your progress. Works much better than that nasty scale.
