hi Z I'm not an expert around here, but you might want to try usinf fitday.com. it helps you figure out the percentages of what you're eating... I think the ideal is about 5% carbs, 65% fat and 30% protein.. it's also important to know your stats, like your start and goal weights... people who weight less need less calories per day... also, are you drinking your water? I found I didnt lose any weight until I bit the bullet and started chugging... good luck, and glad you're here!

| that's alot of mayo! 4 tablespoons per meal? are you saying 12 tablespoons a day? kraft real mayo has 200 calories per 2 tablespoons. that would be 1200 calories just from mayo in a day. you know what? you're doing induction, right? well on page 127 of my dandr, i'm looking to see if mayo is listed, making sure.....nope i don't see it. how about some sour cream? how about some great olive oil with some herbs? yes try fit day or another program like that.

Well, I've always heard that mayo is OK I eat a bunch of it myself... just make sure it's the one with no sugar added... it's just oil, egg, and seasonings.. but yeah, keep an eye on the calories. I'm not too clear on this myself, but I know you can't just go crazy on calories... how has the rest of induction goe so far? veggies? exercise? water? maybe we have some ideas, and we can help...

Zbeth, could you help us help you a little better? Maybe give us a day or 2's worth of menus? That's a lot of mayo, but don't start worrying about calories just yet, OK? Let's see what else can be adding to the problem. Veggies? Are you eating them? Water?? How much are you drinking? Are you doing any of the mandatory exercise?? A little more info, as I said, will enable us to help you out a bit more.

Hi again. thanks for all the info. In terms of my daily menu, I drink about 75 ounces of water daily, have a cup of broccoli, and then another cup and a half of salad veggies, I do aerobic exercise about 3 times a week. I do think I'm eating too many calories, though. Here's a sample of today's menu, and I've cut back my portions. Breakfast -2 hard boiled eggs and 2 tablespoons mayo Lunch, I small can tuna, 2 hard boiled eggs, 2 tablespoons mayo Dinner- one chicken breast with some melted butter, cup of broccoli and cupand a half of salad greens with olive oil on tops and just a tiny bit of crumbled feta. That's it for today. Have I already consumed too much? Could I fit a low carb snack in later in the evening? Let me know what you think, and thanks again for your help!

It doesn't sound like you're eating too much of anything BUT the mayo. It's highly caloric and almost purely fat. Your fat to protein ratio must be off the charts. Maybe try salting the eggs in the morning and doubling up on the tuna in the afternoon?
