| Hi Lissa Many of us here use a website called www.fitday.com to log our foods and calculate our carbs. It is free to set up an 'account' and though a bit complicated to use gets easier after a while! It is set up for USA-type foods, but once you learn the different names (eggplant=aubergine, zucchini=courgette, etc) it isn't too bad. Most carb counters put one egg as a bit under one carb. Cheese will vary according to the kind you use, but Dr Atkins tells us to count one carb per ounce of the 3-4 ounces a day we are allowed. The coleslaw count will depend on what is in it - some commercial brands have a fair amount of sugar in them, so go by what is on the packet if it is a bought item, or by what you make it with. Hope this helps! BTW - have you taken your measurements too? Many Atkineers lose inches instead of weight from time to time and it is good to have starting numbers for comparison later.

| Thanks Elizellen - that has helped a lot. I will keep using Fitday to monitor the carb contents, and instead of a 0 for cheese (for now I'm using only cheddar), I'll do as you say and just count each oz as 1 carb. I make my own coleslaw (with mayonaisse but minus carrots - so I guess it's really shredded cabbage!). Yes, I've taken my measurements and I'm keeping a journal so it's all written down. Much appreciated. BTW, your before and after pics are an inspiration! Thanks for sharing them! Cheers, Lissa |
