Question Supplements

OK, I know the book suggests a few supplements that should be taken while on Atkins, How many of you actually take them? I've never really been the type to "remember" to take vitamins/prescriptions, etc regularly, so i thought not taking the supplements would just be the easies thing to do...will not taking what is suggested slow my weightloss?

Supplements are wonderful, I could not make it with out them....I feel so much better. If I miss taking them, I know it. I am pretty faithful, in two week I only missed my afternoon supplements one time and that was yesterday This is what I take...

C-1000...x2
COQ-10...100
Blotin...1000mcG
E...400
B- Complex
Centrum...No iron
Flax Oil...1000mg
Fish Oil...1000 mg

ladyjewels, do you think that these supplements aid you in your weightloss? or you just take them to fullfill the nutrients that you may not be getting in the foods you are eating b/c of Atkins?

In other words - physically & emotionally, i feel great, so i dont want to take the supplements unless they are going to aid my weight loss.

Dr. Atkins said that many of us come to this diet deficient in many vitamins and minerals due to our poor eating habits. So he recommended vitamin supplements to help make up for the vitamins and minerals our bodies didn't get during our pre-Atkins lives.

Many vitamins and minerals are used by our body to metabolize fat, protein and carbs. So if you are low on these nutrients, your weight loss can possibly be slowed.

I take a daily vitamin (even before I was on Atkins). What I do is keep the vitamins in a pill box that is marked for each day of the week. I have this pill box on my bed table, so when I wake up in the morning, I take the vitamins.

I am no expert...but I want to make sure I am getting what my body needs. If I forget to eat the right veggies, I know my supplements will help. I never was into supplements and my new hubby, was always trying to get me to take them. I never would because i always felt good and had to much energy. But now that I am taking them, I feel even better. My skin feels better. And I know my heart feels better!!! My nails are growing and my hair is really growing. I alway wore my hair short and my hair is way down past my shoulders and my hair is so much softer.

Will I always take supplements? YES
I just wish I would of taken my new hubby's advise sooner.....and yes I have told him this, and he never said "I told you so"...lol

Do what I did sweetie......I googled all the supplements I wanted to take. I also just added Green Tea gels.

great, thanks so much ladies - i appreciate it. i will look into all the supplements that are spoken of in DANDR & will be sure to do some research and get me some supplements!
