Hi Nikkinteddy!

Great idea to watch (and watch again) the video and find things that motivate and inspire you! Have you checked out the Low Carb Success Stories or the Before and After forums? They're great!

So, how about a little more info about you...are you following the 14 Day Induction right now? If so, what day are you on and how are you feeling?

How much weight are you hoping to lose? What kind of exercise are you doing?

I know, a lot of questions!

You can do it! *bounces around like a cheerleader* You should check out the Century Club (for people who need to lose, have lost, or are in the process of losing 100+ lbs). Kent's vid (the one on youtube) is fabulous. I know I've fallen off the wagon (repeatedly) but it really is possible to make it a life change, just check out any of the success stories.. or look at people's siggies. Some of them are so amazing.

I agree with the others. You can do this and have a great time doing it. How can you go wrong eating a diet that includes cheese and bacon, steak and eggs, Salads with Ranch dressing, OMG. all that and you still lose weight.
Welcome aboard kiddo, your going to be one of our super stars before you know it.

Welcome!

I wanted to give you two websites that belong to members who have met their goals through this program:

Brook:http://www.brookjay.net/melting.html

Sheila: http://www.sugarfreesheila.com/

It always motivates me when I go read through their info and look at their "before & after" photos. I thought you might like them too!

Nikkiinteddy,
Welcome, the atkins diet is really something. If you will give it a chance, hang in there for just 2 weeks, you will feel so completely different. When you get bad carbs and sugars out of your system, you start to feel so much better. You need to get the book we all have read, and reread all the time. Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution...(DANDR)
the first 10 chapters teach you all about what your body is going through and how to make it burn fat. Many of us can step up and tell you it's true, all of it is true.
There are so many people here on so many different parts and passages of the Atkins journey. I encourage you to think "one day at a time"...you can do that can't you...
I really works.

I am so glad to see you start this Way of Eating now. You have the best motivation I personally have ever found.

But you aren't breast feeding are you?

I did, and the reason I am so glad you started when you did is because I SWEAR it will come off really fast post partum for some reason. Even if not b/f, for some reason you have a window of opportunity here! Maybe it's hormones, or just plain lack of sleep. But you STICK TO IT, hear me? You will make SUCH progress in these next few weeks...you've already lost 12 lbs in a week!!! Then you'll level off after a bit, like most do, but seriously, you can REALLY make some progress right now, with sticking to it and exercising moderately.

I re-started on the day after I weaned my 2nd son, at about my pre-preg weight (plus a last binge worth of water weight) and the lbs just melted off for about a month. And that momentum is SO encouraging.

You did ask for suggestions, and here's a couple of mine for sticking to it:

Make sure you can ALWAYS have something you really LOVE. Mine is coffee with heavy cream or cheeseburgers. So when they bring donuts to the breakroom, I make a fresh pot of coffee and have a cup with a LOT of heavy cream, and SAVOR it, and don't miss the junk. And when I'm at a picnic, I eat the cheeseburger and the veggies and SURE don't miss the gluey white bun! And I eat enough and move enough I don't want the dessert. That's one big tip.

Don't let yourself get bored or complacent. Plan meals and shopping ahead as much as you can. You will do GREAT.

I'm 32 with a 1 yo and a 3.5 yo by the way
