| If it looks like a brownie and tastes like a brownie, girl you have a brownie. Now saying that, remember induction is the time to fight off those cravings for sweets. I understand with the added stress of PMS its not easy, but don't give in as you have a great start going there. BTW, psyllium is what we recommend for constipation. You did good

| the psyllium husk is good, making brownies though is not a good idea on induction if you want to start losing weight. i know it's hard to supress your sweet tooth but once you go a few days to a week without the stuff you don't miss it one bit. not saying it isn't low carb friendly though, maybe it would be fine in a later stage of atkins diet. stage one is focusing about the simple natural foods like grilled chicken breast and vegetables. i mean burgers(no bun) have very little carbs but those are also induction safe. i don't remember eating any types of sweet on induction so i can't be any help on that topic. if i felt hungry or had a craving i just had something low carb friendly to tide me over. |

| i thank all of you for your info it really helps, but the first time i did atkins i messed up so bad with the sweets!!!! i mean. this is the reason i am looking for a intro sweet solution...see some people have the willpower of steel... me and hubby dont!!!! thats why i was trying to make something that would keep us from choking each other out or running to the nearest gas station for sweets.. we eat like were supposed to on intro.. drink no sodas.. just water..so when i made my mock brownies and handed hubby 2 and i ate 2 we were so satisfied .we laughed and joked around all night...he said baby those were good..drunk his water and went to bed...Thank you Lord

| The first 2 weeks of induction are the hardest. If you get through 14 days without sweet stuff your whole Atkins programme will be so much easier. Its so important to rid yourself of cravings for sweet stuff, and it only takes 14 days. Rich

| You know what? Now that you've had them. Remember. Move on. And if you are wanting something like that again, tell yourself - I only have X more days of induction before I can introduce that again. (by that time you probably won't want it) There are all kinds of little bitty sweet recipes on the forum for those 'few' moments (after induction) when that might be nice. You'll be amazed at how rare that is. (example, I made a cheesecake (Atkins friendly) because we had company - the remainder of it has sat in the fridge til it went bad - I can promise you that NEVER would have happened pre-Atkins) Enjoy this way of eating - it is FANTASTIC! | I know it's hard giving up the comfort foods but you'll find comfort in those skinny jeans once you've reached your goal. I was a chocoholic. I could eat chocolate dipped in chocolate This morning I'm making blueberry muffins for my kids for breakfast because we cleaned out all the pop tarts and donuts from the cupboards and threw them in the garbage. Pre-Atkins, I would have licked the spoon and bowl clean but this morning when I looked at the batter left in the bowl and on the spoon I felt sick and rinsed them both in the sink. I know it's hard but try not to give in again, it's only going to prolong your cravings during indcution and will make it harder for you to succeed. You can do it!!!! |
