| That's sounds good!! The polish sausage should be alright as long as you don't eat to much. I like to eat 0 carb meat so I can have my carb in veggies. |

| Well, it's not ok to "binge" on anything You can eat until you are satisfied, but don't over-do it. If you're still hungry, have a little bit more 20 min. later. And you could certainly do worse than pepperoni. I personally find it hard to eat more than a serving at one time--I always eat it with a piece of string cheese, and some sort of veggie, like celery, olive, or green pepper, that way I'm eating fat, protein, and a little carb with each meal. If you are hungry, eat something that has protein and fat. Protein is filling, fat is satisfying.

| I'm pretty sure the pepperoni is high in both. 13g fat/serving and 5g protein/serving. I sorta did binge a bit on it today but I think I'm done eating for the day as I really don't feel too hot (nothing induced by the diet, I felt it coming yesterday before I started). But basically I ate my cup of lettuce and my two cups of vegetables, four ounces of cheddar cheese, had two eggs this morning, and basically a lot of pepperoni today. It could be better no doubt, but how do you think I stand for my first day of induction? |

| Sounds like all acceptable foods! It gets easier in the next few days...the first couple are kind of hard because of cravings (or at least they were for me) but soon you'll lose that urge and feel pretty good. Just make sure you balance your foods out throughout the day--keep up the good work!

| Keep in mind pepperoni is usually very high in sodium, which can cause water retention, and causes many people issues so you may want to limit your intake. For the polish sausage you mention it does have no sugar but 2g's of carbs, it is possible there are fillers in it (ie wheat, starch etc), you may want to read the ingredients closely, list just in case.

| Sadie, I think you were pretty on-target with your comments on the sodium. I lost .5 pounds today but can definately feel the water retention, so I may've been able to lose more. However, that's decent right? Today I'm gonna lay off the pepperoni and see how I do tomorrow. I'll definately incorporate it a bit in the future as a little snack. Here's another idea I posted on another thread but I think the topic has since strayed a bit: All the sources I've just looked up seem to say .4 - .6 carbs per large / extra large egg. Theoretically, then, for induction, could one make three 2-egg omelettes for meals throughout the day, dividing their cheese and veggies between them and eating their salads inbetween those meals? Once I can grab some chicken breasts, I'd think about going two omelettes, chicken breast for dinner, one cup a salad inbetween both meals still. Think that'd work? |
