| Hi. If you are going to have surgery in 1 week, I strongly advise that you NOT begin a weight loss plan. You are having surgery due to a medical problem according to your post. Dieting can cause a physicial stress on your body. Surgery causes a stress too because your body is being cut open and, in effect, physically violated and manipulated in a manner that nature did not intend. Your body doesn't need the added stress of a diet before, immediately after or during your surgerical recuperation. Your body needs to heal. So I advise you to eat natural minimally processed nutrient packed foods before your surgery. Then after you have recuperated, you can begin your weight loss. More importantly, I advise you to speak to your physician and surgeon about beginning a weight loss diet now and see what their medical opinions are.
