| Bek, it really depends on how much you need to lose. A bigger person will lose much more in the initial stages than a smaller person. Also, weight loss speed does vary immensley. One of the ex admins on ADBB didnt lose anything at all during induction, but went on to make goal. So there is no need to panic unduly. Keep your chin up. Rich

| I agree with Rich. You have lost an appropriate amount of weight for the number of pounds you want to lose total. You are right on target! Rule of thumb: Never compare yourself to others!! We are all different. Do everything right, and your body will lose at the pace it wants to. You are doing great!

| Hello Bekra, 5.5 lbs. is not bad for the first week, and the others are right, it does depend on how much weight you have to lose, and how much water your body is retaining. At least that is true for me. But I can certainly relate ,because I lost 6lbs the first week, and didn' t weigh myself again until 2 weeks later, and I only lost 2lbs. I felt awful, but after thinking about it, and posting here, I decided that my body was being difficult and not releasing the weight. I figured at least I lost something, and the scale was moving. Someone suggested that I measure myself, luckly I had measured myself a week earlier so I had something to go by, and guess what! I had lost 2" on my waist. Actually that was the only part of my body I mesured . So I joined the no weigh challenge, and will not weigh myself for another couple of weeks. I have found that the scale usually upsets meBasically just wanted to say hang in there. Pru
