| Hi, I am facing the same dang thing. I cheated after 5 days and 10 pounds. Gained 6 back. I understand being mad at yourself, as I am, but dust yourself off and start again. |

| Remember how bad you felt afterwards as well. It's not the end of the world, but you are undermining all the hard work you put into it! Keep going with induction and drink lots of water afterwards.

| As everyone else has said - please don't be too rough on yourself. You are trying to learn a whole new way of eating and you may ocassionally trip but you just chalk it up as a lesson learned and keep going. You really need to just keep going forward because for most overweight people the big issue is their relationship with food, an unhealthy one at that. You are in the midst of a divorce (from your old eating habits) and sometimes you fall back into the old pattern. You didn't ruin things so please don't go on a pig out - just keep following Atkins as if nothing happened. Re-evaluate why you cheated? Were you really hungry? If so then maybe you're not eating enough food. Most people start Atkins thinking that they aren't allowed to eat but the good news is that you can eat. This isn't a starvation diet. Maybe your will power isn't strong enough yet to turn down foods like pizza. If so, then do yourself a huge favor and try not to have foods that aren't induction friendly in the house so the temptation to cheat won't be there. Are you an emotional eater? If so, what emotion triggered the cheat? Maybe you can come up with a better way of dealing with your emotion rather than turning to food. Why not climb on the tread mill and work it off or why not eat something induction friendly like a cucumber or green pepper. I find that the crunchy foods usually are more satisfying for me. I hope this all helps. You have a lot of support here so congratulations on your success so far and keep going!!!! |
